Hi classmates! This is my second contribution in diigo. Last week we had an exhibition of storytelling. One of the stories that the professional told us was "the very hungry caterpillar", written by Eric Carle. I strongly believe that tell our students this story could be very useful, especially because it contains lots of interesting vocabulary. Here, in this page, you can find plenty of activities that will reinforce the vocabulary learnt by the students. As we have seen this weeks in the university, English classroom is dominated by the textbook. It decides what we have to do in the classroom. Nevertheless, we can use a lot of resources in order to produce intrinsic motivation in our pupils. I consider that storytelling can be a good learning tool because it promotes among other things, creativity and imagination. Furthermore, if we use stories in class, we will encourage the development of language among students. Good evening people! I want to show you an interesting article. This is a very complete article about Total Physical Response. I have searched about this topic, because was one of the most attractive contents that we learnt the last year. In this article we can see all about TPR, why we must to apply it in young children, what is TPR, its main characteristics, advantages and there are even examples to develop this method in class, linked to storytelling. With this method, children can learn by a motivate and dynamic way, as you already know. Only with a friendly environment, some coloured cards and the leading of the teacher, the pupils can enjoy much.

This is an interesting and briefly presentation about some different items that we have studied in that course. For instance, this presentation talks about premises of Curriculum, give definitions about content, objectives, CEFR structure... Also it´s talk in depth about communicative language competences and linguistic domains. For last, it´s talk about the 5 skills and the Common Reference levels o Language Proficiency (A1,A2,B1,B2...) Is very interesting because it teaches you that everything is related. In that website you can find another interesting presentations abour other tasks as portfolio... I would like to finish that summary with the last sentence of the presentation: "Don't be afraid to have an open-minded look to so many unknown and unfamiliar things around us… we have just to try to discover them unconditionally!Success!" I believe that this attitude is that we need to keep improving!!!

I want to share this article as a last point of view of self-assessment. For all my classmates who still have doubts. There are some examples of rubrics for techers, to value their own work in a course, in a lesson... These rubrics do reference to different aspects/domains like Planning, the Environment, the Teaching/Learning process and Professional development. We can found in each rubric the aspects that a teacher must to carry out to get a distinguished process.

Hi group! I've found this interesting article. And I've just posted it on the blog. It's about reconceptualization in Curriculum Studies. It explains the meaning of this concept and the influence of history by shaping what is thinkable or not. Reconceptualization does not end; it is fluid, ongoing, situational, it disarticulates static forms and It's directly linked with the cognition process. I wish you enjoy with it.

Hello again group, we have learn a lot about Gardner,s theory of multiple intelligences. Maybe as i think, this are one of the most interesting points we have seen in my opinion we must take in account every day that our pupils are completely different. Hi Miriam! Thank you very much for sharing this page with us, I think that this information can complement the contribution that I done last week that talked about Multiples Intelligences too. This page can help us for a better understanding of each of the multiple intelligences. I consider that reading this document can help us in order to know what kind of intelligences prevail in some of the activities that we do in class (very useful for the portfolio). I believe that the intelligence is more prevalent in my is the naturalistic, because since childhood I've loved animals and nature. Hello classmates, I am attaching an interesting page here that I found on the internet. it is a slideshow that have a look at the curriculum, are very simple slide (32) where we talk about the basics aspects such as rules, features, objectives, competences, evaluation ... etc. Also, does mention Common European Framework and the European Language portfolio. I think it's interesting because I personally overview serves and has taught me very helpful suggestions. You can see right over another space with related proposals. Hi folks! Searching on the Internet I have found an interesting article that includes a set of communicative activities that we can develop in the classroom. As we have been studying, one of the big challenges that language teachers face is to promote the skills of speaking and oral interaction. In several of the case studies the teachers express the difficulties they have developing oral language. However, as a language teacher it's really important to know what counts as speaking in language learning and how to promote such skills. I think that these are the advantages of using this kind of activities in the classroom: More exposure to the target language More authentic opportunities to use the foreign language Fun and interesting for learners These activities provides opportunity to use authentic materials Nevertheless, I consider that there is a big problem that we have to take into account: Learners can be resistant, specially if they are accustomed to teacher-centred styles of teaching. Good Morning mates! I have found this article of Cambridge where explains for to create effective language lessons. But I want to do reference in pages 35-42 because we can solve doubts we have about planning, is very simple. Here explains the advantages (is a road map for the teacher, provides security, determines sequencing and timing) Also, this article advises us about the essential aspects to take into account to develop an effective plan, as the way to approach goals, groupings, resources. It´s very easy to understand, and only in seven pages!
