The secret behind the interactivity is a central choose-your-own-adventure video around which annotations lead to separate videos that respond to your chemical selections. Choose your first chemical and then select another from among eight on the laboratory table.  You'll see the team scientist take each chemical from the table.  Then pause to consider-will it explode or won't it?"

"The drive to increase technology use in classrooms has many asking whether the investment is more fizzle than bang, and whether it's too early to tell how wisely the money is being spent. Education author Peg Tyre has investigated the use of iPads, one of the most popular classroom additions, in TakePart. She concludes that iPads may assist in some new classroom techniques, but by themselves, they may not be better than traditional, cheaper methods."

Almost all employers wrap up job interviews by turning the tables and offering candidates an opportunity to showcase how well they understand the role, how interested they are in the opportunity and what plays to their passions points. When the time comes to flip roles and grill your interviewer about the potential job, it can be tempting to ask pressing questions about salaries, hours and workload. But asking questions about vacation time, salary reviews and benefits might be red flags - and worst-case scenario, they might cost you the job. Tested 72 hours after exposure to information, people remember about 10 percent of what was presented orally. If you add a photo, that figure jumps of to 65 percent. "

"Samantha Shires, a middle-school social studies teacher in Guilford County, North Carolina, wants her students to understand that history doesn't unfold in a series of unrelated events. "History is messy and chaotic," she says. "Students need to see how events are connected and interrelated." ChronoZoom, a free tool developed by Microsoft Research and an international team of collaborators, is helping her students visually explore the history of, well, just about everything, from the Big Bang right up to the present day."

"Chances are, if you're teaching a group of younger students (elementary or middle school, though high schoolers are certainly not known for being super careful with their devices either), you're likely concerned about how they're handling your expensive classroom iPads. There are a ton of "tough" tablet cases out there designed to save your device when it is dropped/banged/slammed/smacked/otherwise injured, but just trying to protect them for when that happens isn't getting at the root of the problem. Teaching students how to properly handle their devices so that they don't get broken (or are less likely to, since obviously accidents happen) is a necessary approach (though I'd still recommend padding those iPads to high heaven in whatever case is most appropriate for your classroom needs)."

It is basically an interactive timeline that features major historical events from the Big Bang to the present time. Students can browse through this timeline and learn about places and people, follow their lifespan and discover new insights about them."
