The British National Bibliography (BNB) lists the books and new journal titles published or distributed in the United Kingdom and Ireland since 1950. It also lists forthcoming book titles and hand-held electronic publications e.g. CD-ROMs, deposited with the Legal Deposit Office since 2003.

The Baldwin Library of Historical Children's Literature in the Department of Special Collections at the University of Florida's George A. Smathers Libraries contains more than 130,000 books and periodicals published in the United States and Great Britain from the mid-1600s to present day. The Library also has manuscript collections, original artwork, and assorted ephemera such as board games, puzzles, and toys. The Baldwin Library is known for comparative editions of books, with special emphasis on Robinson Crusoe, Pilgrim's Progress, Aesop's Fables, and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The Library also has the largest collection of Early American Juvenile Imprints of any academic institution in the United States.

Since 1989 Panorama of Russia, an American company, has specialized in non-fiction, predominantly reference and academic publications from the Russian Federation and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Many of our titles are printed in small amount. Comicsresearch.org is a bibliographic website that has details of a wide range of serious books about comic books and comic strips. The website also includes a bibliography of comics-related dissertations & theses. Begun in 2000 by Gene Kannenberg, Jr., the website is a useful and active scholarly resource, with a wide range of subject-categorised and annotated bibliographies. Some bibliographies are hosted on behalf of other scholars, such as the bibliography for "Early Decades of Italian Comic Art". The website contains a detailed style guide, giving authoritative guidance about how to cite panels or pages of comics in academic writing.

The Contemporary American Poetry Archive (CAPA) is an electronic archive which aims to make freely available on the Internet out of print volumes of 20th Century American poetry. The material is arranged alphabetically by author and copyright information on reprinting the works is provided. The site provides limited biographical information about the poets. At present about seventy volumes are archived. Books from commercial, university, and small presses are eligible for archiving; self-published and vanity press books are not considered. The archive is supported by Connecticut College, Department of English and Connecticut College Libraries.
