Comicsresearch.org is a bibliographic website that has details of a wide range of serious books about comic books and comic strips. The website also includes a bibliography of comics-related dissertations & theses. Begun in 2000 by Gene Kannenberg, Jr., the website is a useful and active scholarly resource, with a wide range of subject-categorised and annotated bibliographies. Some bibliographies are hosted on behalf of other scholars, such as the bibliography for "Early Decades of Italian Comic Art". The website contains a detailed style guide, giving authoritative guidance about how to cite panels or pages of comics in academic writing.

The Grand Comics Database (GCD) is an ongoing international project to build a detailed comic-book database that will be easy to use and understand, and also easy for contributors to add information to it. This fully searchable and sortable database includes information on creator credits, story details, and other information useful to the comic-book reader, fan, collector, and scholar."

This is an international bibliography of comic books, comic strips, animation, caricature, cartoons, bandes dessinees, and related topics. We have divided the bibliography into four sections, arranged alphabetically by author, for ease of use. We welcome any additions or comments.

Die Bonner Online-Bibliographie zur Comicforschung ist eine bibliographische Datenbank, die die internationale wissenschaftliche Literatur zu Comics, Graphic Novels, Manga und verwandten Gebieten erschließen möchte. Nicht erfasst wurden bisher (mit wenigen Ausnahmen) Artikel in Fan-Magazinen und Tageszeitungen. Die Bibliographie versteht sich als Komplement und Ergänzung zu ähnlichen Unternehmungen, die einen abweichenden (teilweise umfassenderen) Ansatz haben, wie ComicsResearch.org oder die comics research bibliography.

Die Gesellschaft für Comicforschung (ComFor) verfolgt das Ziel, die wissenschaftliche Erforschung von Comics im deutschsprachigen Raum koordinieren und vernetzen zu helfen. Die ComFor ist für jedwede interdisziplinäre und internationale Art von Comicforschung offen.
