    This study examined the importance of faculty's commitment to pedagogical quality (CPQ) in predicting instructional technology adoption. A customized electronic survey of 27 questions was developed and implemented to four higher educational institutions and yielded 104 usable surveys. Data were analyzed with SPSS using correlation and backward stepwise regression methods. Results indicated CPQ is related to instructional technology adoption. Beliefs about instructional technology and categorical variables (academic title, years taught in higher education, and tenure status) affect both CPQ and faculty adoption of instructional technology independently. Intrinsic and extrinsic motives, and teaching in health-related courses also predict adoption

  • We refer to the painful disconnection between Jay’s lived experience in the real world and the artificial environment inside the classroom as the daily divide. Unlike the digital divide, the daily divide also discriminates against people of higher socioeconomic status. Individuals with abundant access to information and communication technologies who have habits of effective use of these technologies in information-seeking and problem-solving activities are unable to make effective use of these technologies in higher education settings like the class described above.

Lazarri (2009) found that "full-time students co-involved in lessons' podcasting outperformed colleagues of the previous years and achieved higher levels of what we define as competitive agency, that led them to better understand the theoretical issues of the course and to more effective practical skills."

Although joining the Fb group for the course was not required, a little over 80 percent of the class became members of the group.
