I'm learning more about diseases like diabetes and heart disease now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is: Is is diet or genetics that determines if you get these diseases or not. I searched in the New York Times for "fast food and cancer" and I found this op-ed piece to be interesting because of how it connects personal issues out to big societal ones. "According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, three-quarters of health care spending now goes to treat "preventable chronic diseases." Not all of these diseases are linked to diet - there's smoking, for instance - but many, if not most, of them are." Seventy-five percent of health care spending goes to things like heart disease and diabetes, which are preventable if we just had better diets!

"Maintaining regular sleep habits and a quiet sleep environment may prevent some sleep disorders." Maybe I should try it when I feel stress towards my days.

I'm currently learning more about eating disorders, a very popular topic about teens. I am listening to a podcast that talks about girls blogging on the internet and joining forums chatting with other people who are also trying to become thin. Just listening to the podcast makes me really wonder whats wrong with the girls and why they are torturing their bodies like that. The podcast read a girls blog that said, " i forgot to delete the history on my internet and my mom had saw what i had been on. Anaboot camp anorexic queen etc. Now shes watching me like a hawk. Im only on now because shes at the pub. It was my 100 calorie diet and i did fine until dinner. She shoved a white roll down my throat and a bunch of chicken . probably like 300 calories. Ugh, I can feel myself getting fatter. I need tips to get her off my back." It's crazy how girls take their physical image so seriously.I would understand, because I'm a girl also, but I would never starve myself like that ! I would skip dinner, but I would Never survive off drinking tea the whole day. That's just really harmful to your body.The podcasts talks about ways they can help these girls recover from anorexic by promoting pro-recovery sites. However, not all of the users who went on those blog, were females. There were also males. What i found most shocking was that there was even a 54 year old who blogged about their diet... The blogs are very interesting because the people talk about what they are going their and express their feelings for people on the internet to see. The most helpful way to prevent younger kids to going on these pro-anorexia sites, is to talk to them about it and teach them about the consequences...

A large number of cases are of unknown cause." this is one of the worse case scenario for someone like me who completely rely on my grip and strength for my hands and legs and what i dont understand is how they could sell a product that did this to people without proper research and conduct to prevent this where as the goldmeso's product is supposr to be pure and help promote mental focus and fine motor skills which is great for me but im still a bit nervous on getting it because of what gold chloride did to people and goldmeso's is still made of of gold particles just more refined and more surface area so the option is still shaky to me

I'm learning more about global warming right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is: How to stop global warming? I was researching this question online, and this blog post caught my attention because this blog post tells you what you need to know about global warming to know how to prevent it from continuing. This post tells you what global warming is and the causes of global warming. This post is helpful and informational. "Most modern attention to the problem of global warming began with discussion of depletion of the Earth's Ozone layer. Ozone (O3) is a molecular form of Oxygen. The Ozone layer is a relatively thin strata of these molecules set in the lower portion of the Earth's stratosphere. Depletion of the Earth's Ozone layer has resulted in a large increase in Ultra Violet Radiation reaching the surface of the earth. Does this increase in UV rays equate to global warming? Not really. In fact most scientific opinion is that depletion of the Ozone layer results in cooling of both the stratosphere and troposphere. So why mention depletion of the Ozone layer as regards to global warming? Because it represents a needed balance between harmful radiation being allowed to reach the earth's surface and our desire to stem the rapid increase in our air and water temperature. Remember, we are viewing global warming as a chain of events." The quote I chose here is basically saying that people think the reduction of the Earth's Ozone layer is one cause of global warming. Ozone is a molecular form of Oxygen. The reduction of the Earth's Ozone layer resulted in an increase in Ultra Violet Radiation appearing on earth. I think global warming is a very important issue because global warming happens on earth and thats where we live. Global warming is not a positive issue but a negative one so I think we all should work together to find a solution to this problem if we want to save the place where we live on.

I am learning more about recycling right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is why people don't like to recycle. I was researching this question online, and this article caught my attention because it talks about how supermarkets have big responsibilities on this. "Of course it would be easy for stores to claim that in a recession they have had to put ecofriendly measures on hold to prevent passing costs on to consumers. As the Consumer Focus survey shows, however, more than half of shoppers are actively purchasing more environmentally responsible goods than they were two years ago. Over 70 per cent say they want help from their supermarkets in making better-informed choices."

Apparently Mr. Omura here has dominated Japan's first pen spinning tournament to become the "sport"'s ringleader. Congratulations to him. I'm sure he has a future ahead of him, spinning not only pens, but also new progressive ideas like pencils or, for the thrill of danger, trying to spin a pen in my English lesson. (Grr!) Edit: His videos are available, and they are amazing. The real question is: Where does one go after dominating the world of pen spinning? What other sports can Ryuki move into? Well, worry not Omuramaniacs, I've done my research. I think an obvious first move would be into a championship for another game that goes on in school a lot. Janken. (Rock Paper Scissors). its good that we are haveing more knowledge to get world hungary over with because i though that they are really bad when they have alot of food shortage speically in the desert parts there is like no way that they can grow food but with our powers now i think that we can actually grow food at places liek that which can help them which is great. i though that it's great in many ways because with this i thin k that they can help them solve thier thing

I'm learning more about food security right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is how to reduce the chance of food insecurity and get a better way to produce more food. I was researching this question online, and this blog post, "Climate/Farming First" caught my attention because it answered my question and listed a lot of useful sources of ways. The quote I chose here is basically saying that the change of the climate affects the amount and quality of agricultural production directly. For example, greenhouse gas emission would affect the quality of the production or even reduce the amount of it. As a result, professors in various fields from all over the world tried to do research and explore ways to solve this problem. I think this is very amazing because I didn't know that the surroundings would also affect the agriculture production, which might lead to great food insecurity. It makes me wonder whether the experts have thought of good ways to solve the issue. I'm also wondering if I would also be able to contribute to their research in the future.

I'm learning more about Empowering Woman right now, and in particular what I wondering about about is: Why is Human Trafficking so important, and why does it relate to Woman's rights? I was researching this question online, and this new article caught my attention because it relates to my question and human trafficking is commonly found in woman cases. Human trafficking is a nation wide problem that needs to be solved. "We have to act now in raising awareness in the whole of society, we have to act now with the determination to put an end to inhuman practices which turn people into merchandise, because human beings are not and cannot be for sale." The quote I chose here is basically saying the world should be more involved in stopping inhuman actions that affects the people all over the world. I also know why girls are constantly used for human trafficking, they rape and do horrible unorthodox actions to the girls. I think this is disgusting because people are being slaughter for their body parts. It makes me wonder how sick these people are. I don't know how people do that, woman should come together and fight against these horrid actions.

I'm not sure that obesity fits the issue of "food security," but obesity causes diabetes, which means that this disease is directly related to how people are getting and eating their food, and it is a special problem in New York City as this article makes clear. And diabetes is no minor disease. It is causing a health crisis in our city: "The somatic consequences of diabetes - including a greatly increased risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, blindness, renal failure, and amputations - are well-known and documented. Researchers are now also focusing on its devastating effects on mental health, as diabetic New Yorkers are 1.9 times more likely than nondiabetic residents to suffer from depression, anxiety, and other psychological disorders (6)."

I couldn't even imagine that the Modern Mayans are annoyed by the movie. Also, I want to know what is modern culture misinterpreting?

I guess we are so hyped up, that we forget about our present and won't fix it.
