LiveJournal: Discover global communities of friends who share your unique passions and ... - 0 views

  •
The best way to enhance your writing is by practice, practice and more practice. Blogs follow a theme usually and journals are ways to put our random thoughts on paper (or in text). Having an online journal with personalized security settings allows us to write whatever our hearts desire without worrying about what our audience might think. I found this site a great blend of personalized journaling and social networking. Below is their description of the site: LiveJournal is a vibrant global social media platform where users share common passions and interests. With hundreds of communities built around popular interests, like entertainment, celebrity gossip, music, food, travel, fashion, parenting, pets, and more, LiveJournal users express themselves through creative journaling and lively commentary.

Nieman Reports | Digitization and the News - 0 views

  •
In much the way refrigeration changed food production and consumption, digitization potentially changes everything about the manner in which we produce and consume news. All presumptions about its freshness and perishability vanish. For most of the 20th century, the public had to follow unfolding news, catching it as it presented itself or losing it forever.

I posted this site for everyone who would like to keep a private Journal - electronically! The site gives you a realistic, "leather bound" journal with lined paper in it which you can use for notes, thoughts, feelings, lists, story ideas or anything else that you would like to write about. You can keep it private or you can share it if you wish. It's saved in the "Cloud" so wherever you are, there it is! It's free for a good basic version and $19 per year for the full blown "Pro" version with all the bells and whistles. Enjoy!

Squidoo : Welcome to Squidoo - 0 views

Squidoo. The popular (free) site for creating single webpages on your interests and recommendations. Even earn money for charity or yourself. As I'm finding that blogging on my wordpress blog can be daunting at times, this is way to write about anything and have fun and complete freedom. I'm having a blast just getting my random thoughts out there in short spurts. Plus it gives you great practice and can segway into a great blog post for your Wordpress or Blogger blog.

This is a great dictionary site for creative, "visual" people. This site allows you to diagram words and their associations to other words. It's a fun way to brainstorm! See formal description below: Visuwords™ online graphical dictionary - Look up words to find their meanings and associations with other words and concepts. Produce diagrams reminiscent of a neural net. Learn how words associate. Enter words into the search box to look them up or double-click a node to expand the tree.

I posted this as a tool to help fellow writers organize and plan their writing. Storyist is a great way to begin planting the seeds of a novel, short story or screenplay. Sometimes getting your ideas organized is the hardest part of writing. This software can help. Do you have a story to tell? Storyist helps you track your plot, characters, and locations and keeps all of your writing organized and accessible so you can focus on your story.
