This is an interesting blog on all topics related to journalism, specifically the changing face of it amidst the influx of new technologies. This "best of" type of list is a good place to start, reviewing his most prominent blogs from last year.

This post is for the person, like me who has used the same program (Word) for years and is looking to expand their horizons! OpenOffice.org 3 is the leading open-source office software suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more. It is available in many languages and works on all common computers. It stores all your data in an international open standard format and can also read and write files from other common office software packages.

I am using this in place of the power point template that Sherri posted for one of our final projects. It is a greaat place. Easy to use, lots of choices. I have an old computer and don't have power point so this was a great option.

This post is for keeping those quick-firing ideas safe and sound. Save your ideas, things you like, things you hear, and things you see. Evernote works with nearly every computer, phone and mobile device out there. Search by keyword, tag or even printed and handwritten text inside images.

Fiona - you have posted some really cool sites. Question - how how you organizing all your websites and web tools - any ideas for me?

Hi Amy! By "organizing" do you mean how do I find my sites and tools and keep track of them? Let me know what you mean so I can help!! I'm a voracious reader and I look up EVERYTHING! If I see a site recommended in something I read, I always look it up.

I posted this site for everyone who would like to keep a private Journal - electronically! The site gives you a realistic, "leather bound" journal with lined paper in it which you can use for notes, thoughts, feelings, lists, story ideas or anything else that you would like to write about. You can keep it private or you can share it if you wish. It's saved in the "Cloud" so wherever you are, there it is! Squidoo. The popular (free) site for creating single webpages on your interests and recommendations. Even earn money for charity or yourself. As I'm finding that blogging on my wordpress blog can be daunting at times, this is way to write about anything and have fun and complete freedom. I'm having a blast just getting my random thoughts out there in short spurts. Plus it gives you great practice and can segway into a great blog post for your Wordpress or Blogger blog.

I posted this tool because it is a great way to look up not only correct grammar, but many other things related to writing. My favorite part of this site is it's quick education videos - they are very informative.

Yes! I use it ALL the time and thought it would be great for "our library"! The site is a great way to check on how to do things correctly or to remind yourself if you are doing something right. It is a great resource to use again and again for researching formatting,etc.
