Khan Academy would be a great resource for teachers and administrators looking for help with RTI needs. There are sections for every content area where students can test their skills via an online assessment. After several questions, content is adjusted to the specific learning level of the individual student.

This is great for auditory and visual learners taking different steps with them. The site begins various practices or content knowledge with an interactive assessment of what you know, what you need review, and what it recommends to build upon the knowledge that the student indicates they have yet to learn or are unfamiliar with. In a sense, it differentiates and it assesses as you interact. Learn for free about math, art, computer programming, economics, physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, finance, history, and more. Nature Publishing Group, publishers of the highly regarded Nature magazine, decided in 2009 to make a sustained effort to overcome questions about the reliability of free materials found on the Internet in life and physical science disciplines. I can see the science department using this site in the classes they are building in Haiku. We have some teachers who are creating blended learning classes and the resources on this page will be helpful. JD

Copyright Basics - YouTube - 1 views

This is a very interesting video on copyright. The voices and background music are very catchy. I would have students watch this video and then as a class create a googledoc of a simplified version of what they learned. A "For Dummies" version and the we could post this to our Moodle or learning platform to remind us how copyright works and what we can and cannot do.

Technology Integration Matrix - 1 views

  •
The Technology Integration Matrix (TIM) illustrates how teachers can use technology to enhance learning for K-12 students. The TIM incorporates five interdependent characteristics of meaningful learning environments: active, constructive, goal directed (i.e., reflective), authentic, and collaborative (Jonassen, Howland, Moore, & Marra, 2003). The TIM associates five levels of technology integration (i.e., entry, adoption, adaptation, infusion, and transformation) with each of the five characteristics of meaningful learning environments. Together, the five levels of technology integration and the five characteristics of meaningful learning environments create a matrix of 25 cells as illustrated below.

Thank you for sharing this. I am going to pass this source along to others in my district. I think it will come in handy when it is time to write PDPs. Many teachers are writing PDP goals that incorporate more technology into the classroom. I think this will help them define their steps and create a plan. Thanks!

Getting Started with Google Expeditions | WISELearn Resources - 1 views

"A selection of resources to help teachers learn more about and get started with Google Expeditions." This resource will help teachers learn how Google Expeditions works and see which Expeditions are available. This is a resource that many teachers may know very little about. If devices for VR are a difficulty to obtain, there are also free resources for them. Cellcom in our area allows classroom kits to be shipped out to a teacher for a short amount of time.

I think this is a great resource to offer my teachers so they can offer it to their students. This is a fun and easy way for pre-k and kindergarten students to learn about matching sounds to letters. Teachers will be able to use this activity at one of their learning centers. The interface is very user friendly. The graphics are colorful and engaging to young students.

Math - PhET Simulations - 1 views

I would use this site to work with the math and science teachers. For this bookmark, I am focusing on math because I find this group to be the hardest to get to work with the library. I would meet with the teachers, discuss concepts they are teaching and then show them this array of simulations they can assign students for any of the following reasons: *Formative Assessment *Further practice on a concept a student is struggling with mastering *A learning extension for accelerated learners - this could be a part of a personalized learning path.
