"So today we're back with another huge list of content curation tools that includes some old favorites (like Google Reader, that we somehow overlooked on our original list…shame on us!), new players that have surged in popularity since the last time we published a list like this (hello, Pinterest!) as well as some up and coming curation sites and platforms."

Nancy and I decided to organize the special issue around "socially mediated publicness," both because we find that topic to be of great interest and because we felt like there was something fun about talking about publicness in truly public form. We weren't sure what the response to our call would be, but were overwhelmed with phenomenal submissions and had to reject many interesting articles.

"Prices for a "tutor" vary. Boostmygrades.com advertises a $695 rate for graduate classes, $495 for an algebra class, or $95 for an essay. When Inside Higher Ed, posing as a potential customer, asked for a quote for an introductory microeconomics class offered by Penn State World Campus, noneedtostudy.com offered to complete the entire course for $900, with payment upon completion, and onlineclasshelpers.com asked for $775, paid up front. Most sites promise at least a B in the course."

"Designing a course that precludes cheating might require thinking creatively and breaking away from simply uploading lecture videos and administering quizzes, said Kyle Johnson, an independent higher ed consultant. "What kind of experience are we providing for students if someone is able to take an entire class for a student and we never figure it out from the interaction? At a pedagogical level, that's my concern," he said. "Are we really just dumping information at them so someone can come in and take a couple of quizzes and they're done?""

The book deals mainly with the processes to the GTD system which include clearing your mind (and living space) of useless clutter, organizing it, and storing it in appropriate places, and reviewing it on a consistent basis.

An unrelenting emphasis on the real-time web simply does not allow for scalable results. It's shortsighted because not all content needs to be consumed in real-time and not all users even prefer it.

I guess as social media continues to expand at rapid rates...there will be many law suites...K-12 schools probably more than universities may be hit harder. Not sure...
