This article describes a study taken of 176 college students to evaluate their patterns of marijuana use as well as its positive and negative effects. Its results found two types of users those that smoked casually and rarely bought product and those that smoked on a regular daily basis. There were both positive and negative effects reported but there were far greater positive reports than negative. The study also described indicators of dependence as well as the tendency of more regular problematic users to combine marijuana use with tobacco and alcohol. This article is helpful because it gives insight to the opinions of those people that actually use the drug being called into question. It addresses both positive and negative effects of use that gives readers a well rounded amount of information on both sides of the argument. It also sheds light how most people that smoke marijuana are at higher risk of using alcohol and tobacco.

This article discusses the most recent presidential election and gender bias words used in the media against Hilary Clinton. In many cases she was referred to as "bitch". People often focus on her negative influence and the fact she is a women in the media instead of the positive things she has done. This is very much an opinion piece but shows a different side of the argument. I can use this in my paper to show how gender bias literacy can be used in the media to help persuade voters to vote a certain way. This also shows how by discriminating by race can take away from the positive qualities because the media is to focused on the sex of the person. I can use this example to prove this.

This article focus is on women and the 2000 Senate election. This focus on campaign strategies and the media women use when running for a position. Women usually take up more of the electoral voting then men. Women take up 55% percent of all elections and are more likely to be persuaded by campaign strategies because they often make their choice about who they are going to vote for more quickly than men. To attract women votes, candidates for a position often focus on education, health care and childcare. This article will be valuable to my research because it shows what candidates focus on in the media and campaigning when looking at women. It also shows that candidates pay more attention to women when campaigning earlier in their career. It also will help in explaining why candidates emphasize part of their campaign on certain issues to target women.

The position taken is in support of an unregulated market as long everyone can make fully informed decisions in it. This source can be used to show that education can act in place of regulation and form a stronger economy.

Using Financial Education Curriculum for Teens Today's American teenagers are regarded as "financially illiterate," and lacking sufficient knowledge of personal finance and an understanding of money. The authors examine the effectiveness of the Money Talks program implemented in several California schools. The Money Talks program was designed to inform students about financial subjects relevant to them. The study proved the program had a positive effect on students by administering a post-test and comparing it with one taken before the course

This article discusses the great impact that self-concepts have on students' grades and performance, mainly in English and mathematics. These authors found different results than have previously been found in tests; they found that "there were significant positive paths from math self-concepts to subsequent math outcomes but not to subsequent English outcomes." Also, they found that girls had higher English and math grades but lower math self-concepts then boys, these results differ from previous test which claimed that the gender difference was diminishing. These results were interesting due to their difference in regards to other tests conducted.

This study analyzed the acceptance of a school cafeteria based program called "Kid's Choice", where students are given increased amounts of healthy vegetables and fruits in their lunch meals. Results were compared between those who were overweight and those considered average-weight. The study found that both groups were equally accepting the program and would continue the program after the 1 month trial. This study would help my research because it shows that children who are overweight are, in fact, willing and able to make positive changes in their diets to improve their body weight and overall health.

This article from Direction's Magazine online was written by Alexander Murphy who is a professor of geology at the University of Oregon. This article talks about how America's lack of knowledge about the wolrd is a negative thing since we are in a position of strength in it. It uses knowledge about Iraq during the war as an example.

The Article describes jumpstart; a non profit program that provides financial lessons to students and young adults. It acknowledges the serious problems of financial literacy in the US. Jumpstart is a program within most US states and it seems like a very productive and positive enterprise.

One opportunity for scholarship left largely unexplored concerns the effect of athletics on group-level processes. The author used a resource-based perspective to explore the influence of athletic investment on academic achievement at the organizational level.

In this study 538 collegiate athletes were asked how they were perceived and treated by faculty and other non athlete students. 33% reported they were perceived negatively by professors and 59.1% by students, Only 15% reported positive perceptions.

Also it explains the effects of marijuana during sex and other effects it has on people in certain situations. With these in mind they conduct a study that entail the negative and positive effects of marijuana. This is a helpful article because it helps me better understand the different effects marijuana has on curtain people. With this in mind I know how I can use it in my research paper. Furthermore this information can help me better understand marijuana and its effects on men and women in different situations. To help me understand the statistical aspect of this research I can use it to comprehend the uses and abuses of marijuana

The author holds research concerning students food safety practices as a result from intervention. At the end of the experience he found that the participants became more aware of their food intake and the way it was prepared. They focused on college students because they are the most likely to unsafely prepare food.
