This website has tabs on the top for math arcade, reading, playground, and all games. The website is very colorful and you need to "log in" to set up the appropriate games to play. This website is geared for K - 8.

I LOVE that students can read books on this site! I think it is great that they can read for free at home. I love the way the site is easily navigated and how appealing the site is to kids and adults. It is a great site for students to practice skills at home and it makes it fun for them.

Fun Brain has math, reading, and fun activities for students to do. It looks to be for the elementary level. Besides games it also has books and comics for students to read. The website is very easy to use and is very welcoming to elementary aged students.

This is a good website for kids to just browse around and play around on. They would be able to play games with their parents and learn at the same time. There are educational games and games that are just for fun. I played a few and they were fun. These could be played by elementary students.

Khan Academy and the Effectiveness of Science Videos - 0 views

  •
The person narrating this video is talking about the video he made for some of his students to do involving physics. Students took a pretest and then based on their answers were directed to varying videos to explain answers that students got wrong. After students watched the videos they retook the same test. He found that there was no difference; students scored 6/26 both times. The narrator found that using students in the videos helped increase scores on the post-test.

Hooda math is a great website that students can use to help them review and study different math concepts. One thing that is great about this website for students is that it is greatly organized for students to easily find games, worksheets, lesson tutorials, etc. There are also a few "fun" videos/songs that students may enjoy watching to help make math fun and may even help them remember the content they are learning.

The Flipped Classroom: Pro and Con - 1 views

  •
The author thinks that the "flipped classroom" is forcing teachers to reflect on their practice and how they reach their students. It inspires teachers to change how they do things and motivating them to bring technology into the classroom. The Pro is students can go at their own pace, review what they need, teacher able to spend more time with students who need help, and missed lessons can be viewed. The Con is access to technology, students spending more time in front of a screen, and not everyone learns through video.

Rappin' Mathematician - 0 views

  •
This website is made by a math teacher from California. Students can easily use this website to help them review different math concepts via 'rap'. One thing that I really enjoy about this website is that many students listen to music all the time and can remember lyrics fairly easily. This website combines math content with musical lyrics that students can use to help them study and remember the material easier.

This is a great website that can be used for students in many different ways. It offers different activities that students can go online and look at and use at their own pace to help them review the different math concepts that they have been learning. Another aspect that is very useful is that students also have the ability to review some of the lessons online to help them 'relearn' the material.

Cool math is a great website that a few students told me about a few years ago in my classroom. It is a website full of many different activities and games that students can play while at the same time reviewing the math that they have been taught. They have a wide variety of games that students can easily find a game that they enjoy playing to review.

Volcano Explorer - 1 views

This instructional website makes it so much fun to learn everything about volcanoes. It gets students actively involved with learning by a few features. First, the interactive tutorials engage students by providing the graphic information of volcanoes, including the global perspective, volcano types, and geological structures inside a volcano. Second, the site has a fun game to have student build their own volcano and watch it erupt with vivid sound effect. The game is highly interactive and rich in contents. All of the features of the website have incorporated many footnotes of learning material, which really helps student to understand the subject.

Teachers Use Technology to Flip their Classrooms - 0 views

  •
This site had a nice little blurb about flipped classrooms and had three video interviews with educators who use the flipped classroom style in their schools and the talks about how successful it was and how positively the students responded to the flip. After the other site I reviewed was so negative, it is nice that this one was positive and I'm surprised by the percentage change before and after the flip of students failing the courses. The number of students failing the class was cut in half for science, math, social studies, and English in one case.

Flipped Classroom: Beyond the Videos - 0 views

  •
To the author, the flipped classroom is not just a model where teachers must record videos or podcast for students to view at home; it has much more content that people have missed. The author pointed out that the advantage of the flipped classroom is that instruction can take place in different mediums. She also suggested that inside a flipped classroom, educators should be able to design collaborative, creative, student-centered activities and assignments to fully engage students' learning potentials.

National Science Teachers Association - 0 views

Article gives teachers tips and advice to motivate and encourage students in a culturally diverse classroom where science may not be a highly valued subject to students.
  •
I would use this in the classroom by having students actively do science and have them share what they found with the class. This would set a foundation to show them they can be successful in science and can motivate them to learn proficiency in science. Once they know they're good at something they'll put more time and effort into developing that skill.

This isn't the most visually appealing site, but it is super easy to navigate and has tons of different activities for ESL students. It is geared more towards adult/older learners since there aren't a whole lot of pictures and the site is kind of a depressing gray…but it still has fun activities and games to play to improve students' English skills.

This site offers students both a review of the in-class topics they'll explore in a typical Spanish course at the middle-high school level. There are also guided quizzes in which students practice the grammar skill. For incorrect responses, there is an explanation bar that pops up to explain the RIGHT answer.

This site is loaded with free educational resources and was created to help with productivity and curriculum. These sources offer programs, websites, online activites, and even online tools. It is divided into 2 different sections: content and curriculum and productivity. The sources listed are also listed alphabetically for more easy navigation. The resources offered are for students who speak English as a first language, ESL students, and even students with learning disabilities. There are websites for all subjects, including building critical thinking skills and creative designing, photography, typing, learning symbols, etc. It also has many options for technology development and programs to use on the computer. This is a great site for sources!

This is a very unique site that allows students the ability to help create their own opera. Students are able to be everything from prop managers to choreographers, all while learning about what goes into producing an opera. The site also offers recourses for teachers such as lesson plans and quizzes. If you have a lesson on operas this site is a great one to use.

This is a website that offers help, information and games to high school students. It is categorized in to English and History, Math and Science, and then educational sites. There is information, practice tests, examples, games and a whole lot of information about many subjects. This would be a good website for students to go on to find support in subject matter. There are sites to go to for video and training online and much more.
