Disability Mentoring Day (DMD) will be on Wednesday, October 20.  It will be a day of job shadowing experiences around the state, bringing students and job seekers with disabilities into the workplace where they can learn about various career opportunities.  They will be paired with a career professional to learn what it means to work in that field or occupation and observe a typical workday.

Int. Traditional Games Society, founded in 1997 by Tribal College Presidents and Cultural Directors of Montana and Southern Alberta. Through the research, resurrection, and restoration of traditional games to Plains Indians tribal cultures, the Traditional Games Society has discovered a window to the past practices of educating American Indian youth for mental, physical, social, and spiritual survival. Many of those old time games are just as relevant for survival in the modern world. 200 years ago, the survival of American Indian families, bands, clans, and tribes depended on the youth learning survival skills from older tribal members.

The old cliché “great minds think alike” couldn’t be more wrong. Today more than ever schools need high functioning teams that represent diverse backgrounds and thinking, teams that challenge the status quo. This session will dispel old myths about collaborations and introduce a new paradigm to create result-oriented teams. Several assessment instruments will be introduced to assist educators in determining the makeup of teams at their schools. Participants will be given tools they can use to build high functioning teams that produce measurable and sustainable results.

We are having a Sponsor a Wheelchair, Sponsor a Child campaign.  For March 2010, Eleanore’s Project has 181 requests for wheelchairs in Peru. We would like to fulfill all of them...and we can’t do it alone. We are asking supporters of Eleanore's Project to help us by sponsoring a wheelchair. A $300 wheelchair sponsorship can do a lot! You will receive a photo of the child and wheelchair you sponsored. A team of professional therapists will customize each wheelchair to fit each child and provide training to families. A child will be able to leave home; sit at a table with family and friends; live with greater independence; enjoy better health, respect and dignity; and even go to school.
