    What:
    Our friends at the DDP state office are inviting all of us, plus parents and any interested folks statewide to join them on a statewide call to educate, inform, and answer any questions folks have about the Children's Autism Waiver. We have created two forms for folks to submit questions, and to sign up to receive notice of future calls. It is planned that the DDP state office will plan periodic calls like this for parents on needed topics. Feel free to distribute widely. Folks may email PLUK with questions at info@pluk.org.

Progress Reports for the Montana Children's Autism Waiver - 0 views

  • In 2009, the Developmental Disabilities Program (DDP) within Montana’s Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) began the Children’s Autism Waiver (CAW) as way to provided intensive (20 hours a week), applied behavior analysis to young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and their families. The Medicaid waiver program is state-wide and provides services for 50 children at a time. The first cohort of children who have completed the services have just exited. As part of the exit procedure, a comprehensive evaluation was completed.

Montana DPHHS releases report on Children's Autism Waiver Program - 0 views

  • According to a recently completed report by the University of Montana, a Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) program that provides early intervention to children age 15 months to 5-years-old with autism is ‘on par with published results from the best national programs’ and has been ‘incredibly successful.’ The Montana’s Children’s Autism Waiver Report documents positive outcomes for the first 43 children who recently completed the intensive three-year program.

The waivers augment existing financial incentives for beneficiaries to work.

  • Families dealing with the needs of autistic children are getting some help from the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services. The department has approved the use of a new web based autism treatment platform that will provide services as part of Montana’s Children’s Autism Waiver.  The Autism Waiver is an early intervention program for young children with autism.  Under the state program, a certified behavior specialist develops a treatment strategy and the State then provides a direct support person with training and experience in providing behavioral support.
