This is an article that came out March 30, 2010. A personal story about a girl coming out from college trying to find a way in this world. It also talks about the live's of black families and white families and comparing their wealth.

I liked the last part that said with personal education comes, the need for others to be educated. I thought this was really good because it was saying that the first and most important step to helping others in poverty is to be educated well.

I think that it's really interesting that education is one of the big reasons people are in poverty. If we could give everyone a proper education, we could probably take a lot of people out of poverty.

It really scares me to know that one child dies every five seconds from hunger. Also, it was eye-opening to see that 9 million kids die of hunger before their fifth birthday. I think it's really unfair that someone that young has to go through such living.

925 million people are hungry. They cant put food on Their tables. I think we take it for granted. We always have food in our fridges, we always have food on our tables. We need to appreciate more for what we get. Next time our moms put something on The table we don't like, you should still appreciate that you get food in your bodies. There are millions people out There that would do anything for just a thing of spinach.

This article talkes about how a women took a trip to africa and she talks about how bad the poverty level is there and her reations. she also tells the reader some sugerstons to help with the people. I was suprised with some of the sugerstons she gave to the reader.

This article talks about how to adress the major problem of poverty in a class room(teachers veiw). I thought that in the article it was cool that they would give the teachers different ways to handle that certen stiuation in a good affective way.

I find this artcle not suprising. I see it, go downtown to the brewery district, you'll see it. That article was made in 2001 i think. I wonder if those statistics are still the same.

poverty is really hurting kids and thier future. Watching the video made me sad seeing all the faces of the little kids that are in poverty.

I cannot believe that 24,000 kids die each DAY just from poverty. I also like the way you can sponser a child, and they made it look so easy, it makes it so easy to want to do something to help.

i agree with kayla. im glad that so many people are trying to help children in poverty so that they can get the potential and education they need! when i get home i'm going to sign up for this website so that i can help them aswell as other people. :D

This talk about what Barack Obama is doing to handle poverty.Wow, they are giving 20 billion dollars to food stamps, and that seems like so much to us, but really that will not feed all of the poverty in America.

These statistics account for one third of all human deaths. More people die as a result of extreme poverty than of any oTher cause. This article says that !8 million people die every year because of poverty and hunger. That is only 1/3 of people accounted for. There is still 2/3 that people dont evenknow about.18 million is a lot of people. But 18 million is only The number of people recorded who died. There are millions of oThers dieing every year more than recorded. That was a major shock to me. I dont understand how this many people alone struggle with hunger. They could go days without food in Their bodys. That just amazes me.

This article is about staistics and how America is ineffective at reducing poverty. The United States has suffered with having almost The highest poverty rate. One in every three adults will experience extreme poverty at least one year of Their adult life. 6.8 of These extremely poor people are men, with The women making up The difference of 9.1 million.

This article tells about how poverty in india hits evben harder thatn in america, here poverty could be at a job for 7 dollars an hour, but in india 25% of their population makes less than a dollar a day. 25% is a lot, becuase mostly the naion is over populated with people that take up most of the jobs. So in india they have somthing known as the "slums" kind of like a ghetto that we have here in the states, but people there live in poor poor living condtions, without running water, no flushing toilet, and no bath the poverty here would look like luxrury there.

this was about death rate with people in poverty. it really surprised me that poverty would make you less willing to kill yourself. I would think that it would because you dont have anything.

I agree with Marley. I also found it shocking that death rates are higher in cities were the gap between poor and rich is wide. You would think it would be higher if the gap between poor and rich wasnt wide. the article states that its like that because "a generally undesirable social climate that's inherently more stressful."

this article is about a group in Mexico (VCAW's). this group helps small urban areas of mexico get food, since woman dont have rights down there they try to gert more rights for them too. I think this article is very insightful to what happens in other parts of the world but idont necesarily agree with what the groups doing

This site has statistics of homelessness all over the world! India has the highest homeless rate out of all 100,000,000 people without homes in all of the world, with 78,000,000 people out on the street. This are some shocking numbers, and really deserve to have a look. I find it amazing that there's enough homeless people in Hong Kong alone for them to make the list with other countries.

This chart shows that there is a alot of poverty even here in the US. This lists them by states by the highest poverty rate. Its not surprising but its still sad.

this article talks about who are homeless and the percents of each homeless group. IT was really touching because it showed that everyone is affected. It really made me feel sad when I saw that 36% of homeless people are families

I found this article interesting becasue it gives statistics about peopl who are homless, like 28% don't have enough to eat, compared to the 12% of adults who are hungry nut have homes." and "22% have been physically assulted". It gave me a different perspective about people who are homeless.

This article is about the definition of hunger and malnutrition, what causes malnutrition,like someone with celic disease, effects of malnutrition, such as getting a weak imune system and fatigue,like who has a high risk of malnutrition, such as people living in poverty,and treatments and recommendations for malnutrition, which is talking to your doctor. Knowing that over 1 billion people in the world are malnurished is heart-breaking and nervracking, since that's more than the U.S., Canda, and the European Union's entire population!

i think we should find a big island with a lot of recouses and build it up a little bit and transport all the poverty people there and they can function like an independent collective society were its eaisyer to help each other

This article is about the causes and effects of poverty, and some studies that have been done on it. While reading this article, I was surprised to find out that almost 36 Million people in the United States are in poverty.

this article is about the rise in poverty across europe. it says that old people and young people are highly suceptable to poverty but what does this mean? i feel that the middle group is bieng left out and that they are the cause of the poverty in theese neutral states.
