A Christmas Carol - 0 views

  •
I watched the movie version of "A Christmas Carol" with Kelsey Grammar and Jennifer Love Hewitt. This version is the one closest to the musical script that we used for the fall musical. An enjoyable movie that helped me visualize the characters and understand the story in another way.

Weight, Perceived Gravity, and Weightlessness - 0 views

  •
This video discussed the difference between absolute gravity and perceived gravity. It talked about how an object in free fall is weightless but still experiences gravity. It explained how G-force is not the same as gravity, because it can also be caused by acceleration, and it even showed some interesting experiments that demonstrate some of the concepts that were talked about.

In this video professor Lewin does a great job of debunking common misconceptions of gravity (like the idea that heavy objects fall faster) with fun and intuitive experiments, It is a great introduction to physics concerning gravity.

This is a brilliant story by the New York Times detailing an avalanche that occurred in Washington state that took three lives. It is an extremely detailed report on the snow conditions, terrain, and decisions made by the skiers that were conducive to the avalanche.

An interesting documentary that helps to clarify Ayurvedic medicine. Very useful as I have been confused about the specifics of Ayurveda and traditional medicine, and want to have a solid understanding before pursuing an in-depth study next fall.

Introduction to Kinematics - 1 views

  •
In this video Professor Lewin thoroughly describes some of the simpler physics concepts of 1-d motion, If you have taken calculus you will probably be familiar with these concepts but it is still a good introduction to the format of Professor Lewin's videos, if you intend to watch more of them in the future.

Gases and Incompressible Liquids - 0 views

  •
In this video he discusses gases pascal's principle and in-compressible fluids. He has some good demonstrations of these principles, such as shooting a paint can filled with water to demonstrate that water is (almost) in-compressible.

Units, Dimensions, and Scaling Arguments - 0 views

  •
In this video Professor Lewin does some awesome things, he discuses dimensional analysis in a way that makes dimensional analysis feel simple and intuitive. He explains some of its advantages and some of its weaknesses. This video was also generally a good introduction to the application of units, and scaling arguments.

This website is great if you want to find a good book to read. The site lets you select the genres that you like so that you can browse popular books that fall under those genres. Also, if you don't know what books to read, then you can look for books based off of a book that you have read and liked in the past. I used this website during the second semester in my composition class because one of the requirements for this class was that you always had to have an independent reading book. So, I would frequently browse this website if I was stuck and need recommendations.

Discover the Dean Difference - Dean College - 0 views

This is a good site if you are interested in researching different colleges. This is a college that I found through college board and it is now one of my number one schools!
  •
A top college in the area, Dean College offers both Associate and Bachelor's degrees on its Franklin, Massachusetts campus. This is a website where I have spent a lot of time because this is the school I will be attending in the fall. Dean is a great, small, liberal arts college!

Reproductive Seasonality in Deer - 0 views

  •
The physiology of reproduction in the deer (family: Cervical) can help us understand their behavior. Deer are seasonal breeders, with males exhibiting "rut" behavior in the early fall during the breeding season. The timing of the breeding season also has implications in survival of young. The reproduction cycle of deer plays a strong role in deer population, management, and many other things that have to do with deer. I have found an article that talks a lot about the reproductive seasonality of deer or reproductive cycle/mating season. The main points of this article are, what is seasonality, seasonality in male deer, seasonality in female deer, seasonality in all species of deer, comparison to domestic animals, and practical implications. The purpose of this site is to provide the proper information so that some one can understand the seasonality of deer. Some issues covered throughout this article are, deer puberty, the estrus cycle, the rut, birthing process, shows the difference in between all species, white tailed deer, mule deer, red deer, reindeer, roe deer, fallow deer, shows different types of estrus, deer and human accidents, and a little bit of deer psychology. This name of this article gives away what it is about which is the reproductive cycle/seasonality of deer. This source is very useful because of all the great information provided. The article included tables, graphs, and diagrams. Compared to other sources I have used this article goes above and beyond other sites/articles I have used. This information is reliable, relevant for my learning, and is also provided by a reliable source. I would definitely recommend this site to anyone, a deer hunter and anyone who wants to know abou the reproductive seasonality of deer. This source was very helpful to me and helped me discover a lot about the reproductive seasonality of deer. It has helped me direct my learning by making me want to know more about deer in general. Someone could use this source for
