With support from the National Science Foundation, we assisted in developing bioinformatics curriculum for high schools and popular bioinformatics tutorials that are used in both college and high school classes. We have shared these materials at several Bio-Link workshops, and at workshops sponsored by CCURI, Tulsa Community College (SEEDBed award), and DelMar College.  Digital World Biology is also partnering with the Amgen Biotech Experience at Shoreline Community College to assist in providing professional development opportunities for high school teachers.

Organic food is great business, but a bad investment: Bjorn Lomborg - 0 views

  •
Organic food has become the fastest-growing sector of the U.S. food industry, with sales that increase by double digits annually. That's a lot of kale flying off the shelves. Buying it makes us feel like we're helping ourselves and the planet. But here's the truth: There are no health benefits from eating organic food. And it is likely worse for the environment.

Have you ever wondered why people look the way they do? Why our hands and feet have five digits instead of six? Why we stand on two legs instead of four? It took 350 million years of evolution to produce the amazing machine we call the human body and in Your Inner Fish, a three-part series based on the best-selling book of the same name, author and evolutionary biologist Dr. Neil Shubin looks into the past to answer these and other questions.
