A webtool from  The American Heritage Dictionary. It enables users create a self-portrait using their words.  You can link to places where you have already written (Facebook or Twitter) or write something unique specifically for the portrait.  The unique image can be shared, saved and printed.  It works best in Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari Internet browsers. Pictures with high contrast generally work better than pictures with similar coloring and low contrast. You can adjust the colors, contrast and font after you have created an image.

Andrew Churches post re:  a project out of Harvard University. The essence of this project is a series of routines or perhaps "mantras" for thinking. They are simple and to the point. While more suited to Middle school students they are good, apt and appropriate. Some of the truth and understanding routines will definitely have a place in senior classes.

I want my students to be sceptics. I believe that in the present age scepticism is more important than ever. Easy access to information, ease of publishing, scams and confidence tricksters combine to create a climate where blind trust is dangerous for our security, our finances and our knowledge bases. For students of all ages a healthy dose of scepticism is much needed not just so they may reveal falsehoods but to allow them to discover new truths.

Mesothelioma is a somewhat uncommon form of most cancers, but it is very lethal, although it on occasion isn't always a spreading form of most cancers like a few other, more competitive forms. There have been millions of deaths related to mesothelioma within the years beyond and there aren't any signs of slowing down.

Opportunities to explore devices from the past open our eyes and lead us to new questions of how our devices function, how machines do the jobs we need them to do and how engineers solve problems.
