The October 22 issue of Campus Technology include an article highlighting two recent Oracle announcements regarding Oracle Exadata Database Machine and new features released for Oracle's PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. The article notes that Northern Illinois University (NIU) implemented two Oracle Exadata Database Machines and includes comment from Steven Pace, associate director of the Division of Finance and Facilities at NIU. He notes that Oracle Exadata Database Machine improved the university's administrative system availability and reliability, and accelerated batch run times. The article also notes that University of Arkansas implemented two Oracle Exadata Database Machines to improve the performance of its PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and Oracle WebCenter Content. Additionally, Brigham Young University consolidated 50 database servers and storage systems with Oracle Exadata Database Machine to help improve performance of its Oracle campus systems. Finally, the article also includes information regarding the new features Oracle released for its PeopleSoft Campus Solutions suite. The article notes the new program-based enrollment functionality is designed to help students plan their path to degree completion, and the new assessment feature helps instructors to define and assess any type of learning activities.

The March 21 edition of University Business includes the following news brief highlighting that California State University (CSU) is currently standardizing its 23-campus system and the Chancellor's Office on Oracle's PeopleSoft Applications.  The news brief links to the full press release.

The March 23 edition of TMCnet Education Technology includes the following article highlighting that California State University (CSU) has standardized its financial, human resources, student administration and alumni development systems across all 23 of its campuses and the Office of the Chancellor on Oracle's PeopleSoft Applications.  The article notes that this move is part of the university's strategic plan, Access to Excellence, through which CSU has committed to take advantage of technology to meet the future educational needs of students, faculty and staff.

The October 17 edition of ExecutiveBiz included an article highlights Oracle's updates to its PeopleSoft Campus Solutions suite, helping students plan their coursework and keep track of their academic goals and activities. Of note, the article includes comment from Mark Armstrong, vice president for higher education development, Oracle, who notes that the new features are based on the framework of a product that has been implemented in higher learning institutions for more than 10 years. Additionally, Mark added that Oracle aims to give institutions flexibility to support any institutional program required.

Synch-Solutions announced that it has begun a rapid upgrade of the Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Capital Management (HCM) at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). The upgrade, from version 8.9 to version 9.1, will be completed within a 6-month period,

The article notes the announcement of the University of Minnesota's implementation of Oracle Exadata Database Machine, the University of Akron's deployment of Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition and Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise Performance Management in the vendor's Cloud Solutions for Education and Research, and East-West University's implementation of Oracle's PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.

The November 8 edition of eCampus News includes the following press release announcing that the University of Akron has selected Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition and Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise Performance Management hosted on Oracle Cloud Solutions for Education and Research.  The release includes comment from Cole Clark, global vice president, education and research industry, Oracle, who notes that with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition and Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise Performance Management, hosted on Oracle Cloud Solutions for Education and Research, The University of Akron will have greater reporting capabilities to facilitate forecasting and planning, while reducing operational expenses.

The November 7 issue of The Financial includes an article announcing that University of Akron has implemented Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition and Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise Performance Management hosted on Oracle Cloud Solutions for Education and Research.   The article also notes that the university also deployed PeopleSoft Enterprise Performance Management solutions including Financial Analytics, Human Capital Management Warehouse and Supply Chain Analytics.  The article notes that University of Akron will leverage Oracle solutions as a part of its Vision 2020 - a strategic plan designed to grow enrollment, improve the learning experience and increase funding for student programs, faculty, research, campus and community. 

The May 15 edition of University Business includes an article highlighting Oracle's PeopleSoft Campus Solutions mobile functionality. The article notes that the technology is built using Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF) mobile, which enables colleges and universities to extend their mobile applications to include websites and other content they want students to access and also enables security features. The article also details the mobility enhancements, such as the ability to enroll, add, and drop classes. The article includes comment based on the release from Cole Clark, global vice president of education and research, Oracle, who notes that students will now have immediate, personal, and easy access to information. Additionally, higher education institutions now have a platform which enables them to roll out more information and functionality, maximizing value.

The April 30 edition of EdTech includes the following article highlighting Florida State University's (FSU) business intelligence (BI) and the increasing adoption of BI projects at institutions like FSU. The article notes that FSU's BI platform uses Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, which was selected because it integrates with the university's PeopleSoft HR and Financial systems. FSU also invested in Oracle's BI Stack, including PeopleSoft Enterprise Performance Management and Oracle databases. The article highlights benefits the university realized, such as access to information via dashboard at any time, simplified auditing and increased staff productivity.

The April 8 edition of University Business included the following article highlighting that Parchment, the leader in eTranscript exchange, announced Gold Partner status with Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN). The article notes that this will allow Parchment to better serve its PeopleSoft client institutions and set the stage for greater alignment of the company's suite of solutions with Oracle in the future. Parchment's eTranscript solution has over 40 postsecondary institutions using PeopleSoft, including Cornell University, University of Colorado, Kansas State University, North Carolina State University, and University of Pittsburgh.

The March 19 edition of eCampus News includes the following press release highlighting that Embry-Riddle implemented Oracle's PeopleSoft Campus Solutions to provide students and administrators with real-time information.  The release notes that the new system will deliver self-service capabilities to students and enhance the class registration process.  The release also notes that the new student administration software suite will replace the university's legacy system, which was unable to meet the university's global enterprise needs.

The January 18 edition of Campus Technology includes the following article highlighting that Oracle released a new version of its PeopleSoft development and customization platform, PeopleTools.  The article notes that version 8.52 includes enhancements to the user interface and reporting tools, as well as iPad support for all versions of PeopleSoft.

The January 9 edition of CFOWorld includes the following article highlighting how organizations are handling self-service information technology. The article highlights Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS), which used Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Capital Management system to roll out self-service components to its various user constituencies. The article also notes that KCTCS uses PeopleSoft's Campus Solutions application to allow students to enroll in classes, pay their bills and make scheduling changes. The article includes comment by Paul Czarapata, chief technology officer, Kentucky Community and Technical College System, who notes that the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions module is relatively easy to administer.
