The June 7 edition of Campus Technology includes a press release announcing the 2013 Innovators Awards, with nine honorees selected in six categories. Of note, Oracle was recognized in the Administrative Systems category under Cal State University and in the Education Futurists Category under San Jose State University. The Campus Technology Innovators Awards recognize exemplary colleges and universities, their visionary technology project leadership, and their innovative technology vendor partners that have taken technology to extraordinary new heights to meet today's challenges on campus.

The June 20 edition of Campus Technology includes an article highlighting six project management practices when implementing a new IT project. One practice focuses on "invest in discovery," which notes that The City University of New York (CUNY) chose Oracle PeopleSoft to handle integration work when replacing its systems for finance, human resources and student administration. CUNY asked Oracle to participate in an extensive discovery process before the contract was signed. The article explains that the process gave both sides a chance to understand each requirement in depth, helped CUNY avoid major fees during the implementation phase, and gave CUNY an opportunity to understand Oracle's implementation methodology.
