These are some cool 'motivational' videos about open education - certainly a valuable resource when talking about the subject. As we consider the opportunities and challenges around open knowledge on the web, I find it interesting to consider situation antithetical to such openness such as China. This blog highlights some of the words and phrases that have been blocked by the Chinese government on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, along with possible explanation for why they may have been blocked. A very large library of music for video and other projects. It appears that they are changing their model a bit but still offer free licenses for YouTube projects and some student projects. Other uses will have a fee associated. The quality of music is very high and I have used this site a good deal in the past for student work.

I'd love to hear how both you and Federico have been involved in the past and what your communities (both online and off, local and nonlocal) have done to highlight open access during this week. I did a bit of searching, and it turns out that my school has a whole series of events planned for OEW, including some super interesting sounding lecture and a few documentary screenings. Knowledge should be able to share with people, knowledge should not be trapped behind a paywall. For those who needs the information but couldn't get the information because they need to pay for it, this doesn't make any sense to me. So many paper and research by scientists are funding by government which the tax payers have contributed a lot on funding. Thus people should have access to those information.

I think there are real benefits to make the research available to everybody. Because. most of those research works are financed with tax payers money directly or indirectly. So why should there be this private monopolies milking the society and the scientists and blocking the knowledge to be spread?!!!

Underdeveloped website for public domain classical sheet music. I would love to see better sites with the inclusion of much more public domain music that is easy to explore and navigate. Would love any suggestions!

About MathTV Our History The current version of MathTV.com was started in 2008. That summer, Mr. McKeague hired six of his students to help him proofread and error check a college algebra book he was working on. Because of the extremely positive attitude of his students toward improving the book they were proofreading, Mr. McKeague decided to see how the students would do in the studio. With a little coaching they actually did very well. In 2009, we started adding online versions of three of Mr. McKeague's textbooks to the website, and experimenting with building an online homework system. In 2010 we published the first print versions of those textbooks with our new publishing company XYZ Textbooks, and we officially launched our online homework and gradebook software with XYZ Homework. As of now over 80 schools use our books.

I agree that the 14 reasons what makes people share knowledge. great learning to share and great sharing to learn. reciprocating just like teaching and learning vis a vis learning with teaching.

Simultaneously. This has called for the development of new models of information provision to meet user demands. Open Access is one of the models under discussion that has implications for educational, research, legal and economic policy. This handbook is designed to contribute to this debate and provides an interested public with information on Open Access, a subject which, despite its great social importance, has hitherto been mainly discussed by experts.
