Among its provisions, the STOP School Violence Act of 2018 authorized BJA to manage a grant program that would support efforts by states, local units of government, and federally-recognized Indian tribes to prevent and reduce school violence. This solicitation specifically seeks applicants to serve as a training and technical assistance (TTA) provider, on BJA’s behalf, to provide TTA and other support to awardees under the BJA STOP Prevention Training and Response to Mental Health Crisis Program, the BJA STOP Technology and Threat Assessment Solutions for Safer Schools Program, and the COPS Office STOP School Violence Prevention Program, in order to develop a knowledge base and technical assistance delivery model for communities seeking to improve school safety.

The Forest History Society annually offers a number of competitive Alfred D. Bell Jr., Travel Grants to support travel and lodging expenses of up to $950.00 incurred by researchers conducting in-depth studies at the Society's Alvin J. Huss Archives and Carl A. Weyerhaeuser Library. FHS established the award to honor the memory of wholesale lumberman, forest industry editor, and former FHS vice president Alfred D. Bell Jr., who died in 1985.

The National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) and VentureWell have come together to support and expand DEBUT, a competition that recognizes undergraduate excellence in biomedical design and innovation. DEBUT challenges teams of students in undergraduate biomedical education to solve real-world problems in healthcare. Prizes of up to $20,000 will be awarded. Strong DEBUT submissions will demonstrate a mastery of analytical and design skills and capabilities; the ability to manage the product development process; the ability to work effectively in teams; and technical communication skills. Submissions will be judged on the following criteria: Significance of the problem being addressed Impact of the proposed solution on potential users and clinical care Innovative design Working prototype Additional prizes will be awarded to entries that also demonstrate: Market potential and economic feasibility Patentability

The world needs more effective, functional and affordable technology solutions to clinical medical problems. With the BMEidea competition, the nation's leading competition for biomedical and bioengineering students, we challenge students to pioneer a health-related technology that addresses a real clinical need. Competition entries are judged on: Technical, economic and regulatory feasibility Contribution to human health and quality of life Technological innovation Potential for commercialization Strong BMEidea submissions define a problem and demonstrate the development of a device, product, or technology designed to solve it. BMEidea awards are presented each year at the MD&M East Medical Device Trade Show and Convention. Competition winners will receive cash awards as well as access to resources to be used for further development and commercialization of their products. In addition, the first place institution will get to display the BMEidea trophy in their winning department for the year.

The Caxton Club, an organization devoted to "the literary study and promotion of the arts pertaining to the production of books," offers annual grants for expenses of up to $2,500 (each) for book-related projects. The grant will cover expenses, such as travel, materials, and tuition fees. In the 2018-2019 academic year, Caxton Club grants were offered to Midwestern graduate students with projects in the following areas: bibliography, book arts, history of the book, literary studies, pring culture studies, and zines.

AmeriCorps grants are awarded to eligible organizations proposing to engage AmeriCorps members in evidence-based or evidence-informed interventions to strengthen communities. An AmeriCorps member is an individual who engages in community service through an approved national service position. Members may receive a living allowance and other benefits while serving. Upon successful completion of their service, members earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award from the National Service Trust that members can use to pay for higher education expenses or apply to qualified student loans.

Through the annual program, grants are awarded in support of student thesis film projects at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The categories of eligible films include narrative/documentary/experimental/animation/hybrid work, as well as new work, including media installations, transmedia, webisodes, interactive Web work, and other projects where the moving image is the primary component.

The purpose of the NCI Pathway to Independence Award for Outstanding Early Stage Postdoctoral Fellows (K99/R00) program is to increase and maintain a strong cohort of new and talented, NCI-supported, independent investigators. This program is designed for postdoctoral fellows with research and/or clinical doctoral degrees who do not require an extended period of mentored research training beyond their doctoral degrees. The objective of this award is to facilitate a timely transition of these fellows from their mentored, postdoctoral research positions to independent, tenure-track or equivalent faculty positions. The program will provide independent NCI research support during this transition to help awardees to launch competitive, independent research careers. Researchers in the scientific areas of data science and cancer control science are especially encouraged to apply.

Through academic training, practice, and global networking opportunities, the Rotary Peace Centers program develops leaders who serve as catalysts for conflict prevention and resolution. In just over a decade, Rotary Peace Centers have trained more than a thousand fellows for careers in peace-building, many of them serving as leaders at international organizations or who have started their own peace-building organizations.

Through the TRDRP Postdoctoral Fellowship Award program, three-year grants of up to $180,000 will be awarded in support of postdoctoral researchers training under a designated mentor in one or more of the following research areas: cancer prevention, treatment, and/or biology.

The goal of the Graduate Research Initiative for Student Enhancement (G-RISE) program is to develop a diverse pool of scientists earning a Ph.D., who have the skills to successfully transition into careers in the biomedical research workforce. This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) provides support to eligible, domestic institutions to develop and implement effective, evidence-based approaches to biomedical training and mentoring that will keep pace with the rapid evolution of the research enterprise. NIGMS expects that the proposed research training programs will incorporate didactic, research, mentoring, and career development elements to prepare trainees for careers that will have a significant impact on the health-related research needs of the Nation. This program is limited to applications from training programs at research-active institutions (i.e., those with a 3-year average of NIH Research Project Grant funding less than $7.5 million total costs).

Each year, approximately ten ensembles are selected to conduct regional cultural exchange tours of approximately a month in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Central and South America, and the Middle East. As part of the program activities, selected ensembles will perform high-profile public concerts, engage in intensive collaborations with local musicians, lead jam sessions, appear in the media, and offer educational activities such as workshops, music business training for aspiring musicians, and motivational and education programs for underserved youth.

The National Sea Grant College Program was enacted by U.S. Congress in 1966 (amended in 2008, Public Law 110-394) to support leveraged federal and state partnership that harness the intellectual capacity of the nation's universities and research institutions to solve problems and generate opportunities in coastal communities. This notice announces that applications may be submitted for the 2020 National Sea Grant College Program Dean John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship (Sea Grant Knauss Fellowship Program). The National Sea Grant College Program anticipates funding not less than 35 selected applicants, of which those assigned to the Legislative branch will be approximately 14. Each award will be funded up to a total of $71,500 in federal funding, which includes up to $10,000 for office-related travel. In certain circumstances additional office-related travel funding may take the award above $71,500. In such cases any additional funds will be administered through an amendment to the grant. Applicants are strongly encouraged to reach out to the Sea Grant Program in their state/territory one to two months prior to the state application deadline to receive application support and provide notification of an intent to apply. The applicant should allow sufficient time to schedule an interview with the eligible Sea Grant program at the program's request.

With more than fifty thousand members and certified professionals from ninety countries around the globe, the American College of Sports Medicine represents seventy occupations within the field of sports medicine. From academicians to students and from personal trainers to physicians, ACSM is dedicated to helping people worldwide live longer, healthier lives. To advance this mission, the association established the Research Grant Program through the ACSM Foundation, its charitable arm, in 1989. Through the program, grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to support basic and applied research in exercise science. Funding is primarily targeted to new or junior investigators within seven years of attaining a terminal degree (e.g., PhD, EdD) and is expected to provide seed money support after which further funding would be sought from other sources. EPA's P3 - People, Prosperity and the Planet - Program is a unique competition that is open to teams of college/university students working to design solutions for a sustainable future. P3 offers students hands-on experience that brings their classroom learning to life, while also allowing them to create tangible changes in their communities. This annual, two-phased research grants program challenges students to research, develop, and design innovative projects that address real world challenges involving all areas of environmental protection and public health. Phase I serves as a "proof of concept," where teams are awarded a one-year grant of up to $25,000 to develop their idea and showcase their research in the spring at EPA's National Student Design Expo (NSDE). These teams are then eligible to compete for a Phase II grant of up to $100,000 to implement their design in a real world setting. P3 aims to foster progress towards environmental awareness by achieving the symbiotic goals of improved quality of life for all people, economic prosperity, and protection of the planet - people, prosperity and the planet.

The American Psychological Association is accepting applications to its Elizabeth Munsterberg Koppitz Fellowship program, which is designed to nurture young scholars interested in a career child psychology, including child-clinical, pediatric, school, educational, and developmental psychopathology.

The NSF Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) invites grantees with active CISE awards to submit requests for Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Supplemental funding, following the guidelines in the NSF REU program solicitation [see Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU): Sites and Supplements; NSF 13-542]. To be eligible for this opportunity, a student must be a US citizen or permanent resident of the US. The duration for new requests is typically one year. The proposed start date for a supplemental funding request must be after the conclusion of all existing REU supplements on the corresponding active CISE award. Priority will be given to supplemental funding requests submitted before March 30, 2019; the potential for funding requests after this date will be limited. If requests for REU supplemental support exceed funds available in CISE, requests will be considered in the order received. REU supplemental funds can be used at any time during the year.

The Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program provides support for master's and doctoral degrees in oceanography, marine biology, maritime archaeology, and all other science, engineering, social science, and resource management disciplines involving ocean and coastal areas, and particularly encourages women and members of minority groups to apply. Individuals who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, or citizens of U.S. territories, and are applying to or have been accepted to a graduate program at a U.S. accredited institution, may apply. Prospective scholars do not need to be enrolled in a graduate program at the time of application, but must be admitted to a graduate level program in order to be awarded this scholarship. Scholarship selections are based on academic excellence, letters of recommendations, research and career goals, and financial need. Applicants must have a cumulative 3.30 grade point average to be eligible to apply and maintain a minimum cumulative and term grade point average of 3.30 for every term and for the duration of their award. Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarships may provide, subject to appropriations, yearly support of up to $42,000 per student (a 12-month stipend of $30,000 in addition to an education allowance of up to $12,000) and up to $10,000 of support for a 4-6 week program collaboration at a NOAA facility.

We are pleased to welcome American students to apply for the Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program to learn critical foreign languages next summer on a fully-funded study abroad program. The CLS Program is an intensive overseas language and cultural immersion program for American students enrolled at U.S. colleges and universities. Students spend eight to ten weeks abroad studying one of 15 critical languages. The program includes intensive language instruction and structured cultural enrichment experiences designed to promote rapid language gains.

The purpose of the NIH Blueprint Diversity Specialized Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Advancement in Neuroscience (D-SPAN) Award is to support a defined pathway across career stages for outstanding graduate students who are from backgrounds that are nationally underrepresented in neuroscience research. This two-phase award will facilitate completion of the doctoral dissertation and transition of talented graduate students to strong neuroscience research postdoctoral positions, and will provide career development opportunities relevant to their long-term career goal of becoming independent neuroscience researchers.
