    The Nurse in Washington Internship (NIWI) Program is an annual event sponsored by the Nursing Organizations Alliance (The Alliance) and the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) is one of the participating organizations. The next NIWI Program is scheduled to be held March 15-17, 2015, in Arlington, Virginia (across the river from Washington DC). The Alliance sponsors the internship to promote the interests of its member groups through education, research, and health-policy activities. Over the years, more than one thousand nurses have attended NIWI, many of whom have become influential participants in the political process at state and federal levels. Deadline to apply is November 1, 2014.

Research Grant - ACHNE - 0 views

    Once again ACHNE is sponsoring funding for a research grant. The purpose of this funding is to provide seed money, pilot funding, or total funding for small studies with promising contributions to public health nursing (PHN) or PHN education.   The applicant must be a member of ACHNE, have a master's or doctoral degree or enrolled in a doctoral program.   The maximum amount of funding will be $5,000. Funds will be awarded at the ACHNE Annual Institute. Proposals must be submitted by February 1, 2014

2013 NANN Conference Scholarship Application - 0 views

    The National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN) is offering up to twenty-nine (29) registration scholarships to attend the 29th Annual Educational Conference taking place October 2-5, 2013, at the Nashville Convention Center and Nashville Renaissance Hotel in Nashville, TN. Supported in part by a grant from Mead Johnson Nutrition, each scholarship award is equal to the early-bird conference registration rate ($220-$450) and will be distributed as a complimentary registration.     The AONE Foundation for Nursing Leadership Research and Education offers Research Seed Grants of up to $10,000 to support research projects related to nursing administration practice in the following areas: workforce, work environment, leadership development, technology/informatics, health systems, patient safety and evidence-based management practices.     The Indian Health Service (IHS) is accepting applications for the American Indians into Nursing cooperative agreement program. The purpose of this IHS cooperative agreement is to augment the number of Registered Nurses, Certified Nurse Midwives, Nurse Practitioners and Certified Nurse Anesthetists who deliver health care services to AI/AN communities. The primary objectives of this cooperative agreement grant award are to: (1) recruit and train individuals to be Registered Nurses (Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)) and Advance Practice Nurses (Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)); (2) provide scholarships to individuals enrolled in schools of nursing to pay tuition, books, fees, and stipends for living expenses; (3) provide a program that encourages nurses (DNP, MSN, BSN, ADN) to provide or continue to provide, health care services in health care programs; and (4) provide a program that increases the skills of, and provides continuing education to nurses (Graduate and Undergraduate).

    On behalf of the Governor's Office of Health Transformation (OHT), and the Ohio Departments of Medicaid (ODM), Health (ODH) and Higher Education (ODHE), the Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) is requesting applications from qualified investigators through the Infant Mortality (IM) Research Partnership to identify interventions and resources needed to improve health outcomes for underserved populations and address the complicated health issue of infant mortality from a systems perspective. The IM Research Partnership seeks to fund multiple research projects in areas including but not limited to: systems dynamics modeling of the impact of the following efforts on infant mortality: improved access to care, safe sleep, and impact of progesterone; predictive modeling for infant mortality; spatial GIS modeling for identifying high-risk communities; and evaluation of the impact of OIMRI home visiting programs.

National Kidney Foundation Accepting Applications for Young Investigator Program | RFPs... - 0 views

    The National Kidney Foundation recognizes that future improvements in the treatment and prevention of kidney disease will rest largely on the accomplishments of individuals now commencing their investigative work. To that end, the foundation has established a Young Investigator Grant Program. Through the program, NKF will award grants of up to $35,000 to individuals who have completed their fellowship training and who hold junior faculty positions at a university-affiliated medical center in the United States for research in the field of nephrology or a related discipline. Projects must be patient-oriented and may include but are not limited to the development of new technologies, mechanisms of human disease, educational or therapeutic interventions, epidemiological studies, health policy studies, and clinical trials. Individuals who have completed the fellowship training in an ACGME-accredited training program and who hold a junior faculty position (instructor or assistant professor) at a university-affiliated medical center in the United States are eligible to apply.     The National Association of School Nurses, in partnership with the American Nurses Foundation, is accepting applications for the 2019 NASN/ANF Research Grant program. Through the program, the foundation will award grants of up to $5,000 in support of research projects focused on school nurse impact on health disparities, students with chronic health conditions, and student safety; innovative models of school nursing practice; cost-benefit analysis of school nursing; and/or impact of school nurse activities related to social determinants of health on student health and educational outcomes.
