STAR Scholars | Global Connections Awards - 0 views

    A. Noam Chomsky Global Connections Awards celebrate the power of human connections. The awards recognize distinguished service to the global mission of the STAR Scholars Network. Several individuals with a deep impact on advancing global, social mobility are recognized every year. We live in a time when innovation and creativity in support of humanity are of great importance. The Star Scholars Network recognizes the commitment of concerned people able and willing to make a difference in the lives of others. Nominations for this award are solicited from around the world. The nominee can be from any field. Beginning in 2020, the Star Scholars Network is committed to promoting transnational research, or collaborative research between scholars of two or more countries (e.g., joint publications, research partnerships, etc.). The Global Connections Awards recognize STAR Scholars for their achievements and distinctive contributions to translational research that demonstrates the very best of scholarly collaboration among scholars around the world. In December 2020, the Star Scholars Network will provide awards in three categories: North Star Medal of Lifetime Achievement, Shining Star Achievement in Research Award, Rising Star Emerging Scholar Certificate

    Purpose: The Victoria Mock New Investigator Award is to recognize the contributions of new investigators in building a scientific foundation for oncology nursing practice. The award will be presented at the Opening Ceremonies at ONS Congress. The recipient will present his or her research results at the ONS Annual Congress. This award is supported by the ONS Distinguished Nurse Researcher Fund through the ONS Foundation.

Research Career Development Award - 0 views

    The Oncology Nursing Society Foundation is seeking Letters of Intent from beginning researchers for its mentored Research Career Development Award. Through the annual program, grants of up to $20,000 will be awarded to support short-term oncology research training and mentorship, with each fellow receiving up to $18,000 to cover related expenses; the mentor (or the mentor's institution) will receive a $2,000 award in the form of an unrestricted honorarium to cover his/her consultative or research-related expenses and/or other institutional costs. To be eligible, applicants must be a registered nurse with an interest in oncology and have a completed PhD degree in nursing or a related discipline. The awards are available for beginning researchers (i.e., up to eight years after completing a PhD degree with no history of research funding as a principal investigator).

Female Fellowship Applications 2018 | Prevent Blindness Ohio - 0 views

    The Ohio Affiliate of  Prevent Blindness is accepting applications for its 2018 Young Investigator Student Fellowship Awards for Female Scholars in Vision Research. The Fellowship Program is designed to provide support for outstanding female scientists committed to pursuing biomedical, behavioral or clinical research careers relevant to the mission of Prevent Blindness - to prevent blindness and preserve sight.  Grants will be awarded for the summer 2018 session.  Awards will range from $3000-$5000 depending upon the availability of funds. The deadline for receipt of applications is Feb. 15, 2018. Applicants must be post-baccalaureate students enrolled in a master's or doctorate program during the summer of 2018, female, citizens or permanent residents of the United States, and conducting their research with a recognized academic institution in the State of Ohio. Applications from diverse fields in the health sciences including, but not limited to ophthalmology, optometry, nursing, genetics, public health, nutrition, gerontology, and bioengineering, are appropriate to the goals of this fellowship award. The Ohio Affiliate of Prevent Blindness encourages fellowship applications which investigate public health issues related to the burden of eye-related health and safety topics.

Eczema Champion Research Grant | National Eczema Association - 0 views

    This award provides funding support for experienced researchers with recognized productivity - either within or outside the eczema field - to conduct highly innovative, cutting-edge investigations related to eczema. Data from this award can then be used to seek additional, larger-scale funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) or other funding entities to build on these discoveries. Eczema Champion Research Grants facilitate trail-blazing research by established investigators who have built a life-long career in eczema research, as well as thought leaders from other areas of study that can bring additional new perspectives to the research forefront. This award also serves as a bridge for previous successful NEA Catalyst Research Award recipients by providing a funding mechanism to stay in the eczema research field and strengthen their research program and commitment to advancing our understanding of this serious disease. Linda Arenth Excellence in Cancer Nursing Management Award - 0 views

    This award is in memory of Linda Arenth, an active ONS and ONCC member who served as the Johns Hopkins Cancer Center's first director of nursing.  She started what is now a nationally known system to assign nursing services for different categories of cancer patients.  This award recognizes and supports excellence in both cancer nursing management and administration.

Mary Nowotny Excellence in Cancer Nursing Education Award - 0 views

    Purpose: This award is named in memory of Dr. Mary Nowotny, an active ONS member and past chair of the ONS Education Committee.  She was a cancer-education advocate throughout her career and a widely published author, writing many articles on the measurement and significance of hope in patients with cancer.  The Mary Nowotny Excellence in Cancer Nursing Education award recognizes and supports excellence in cancer nursing education.

Purpose: This award was established to focus attention of the membership on quality-of-life issues in cancer care; describe the contributions of clinicians, educators, administrators, and researchers in oncology nursing to quality of life in cancer care; apply information related to quality of life to oncology nursing practice; and incorporate the philosophy of quality of life into all aspects of cancer care. The lecture is presented at the ONS Annual Congress.

DoD Lupus, Impact Award - 0 views

    The LRP Impact Award mechanism is being offered for the first time in FY17. The LRP Impact Award encourages applications that support the full spectrum of research projects or ideas that specifically focus on scientific and clinical lupus issues, which, if successfully addressed, have the potential to make a major impact in lupus research. Applications should include a well-formulated, testable hypothesis based on strong scientific rationale that is established through inferential reasoning and/or critical review and analysis of the literature. Inclusion of preliminary data is encouraged. The following are important aspects of the Impact Award: * Impact: The proposed research should impact an area of paramount importance in lupus disease. It is the responsibility of the Principal Investigator (PI) to clearly and explicitly describe the potential impacts of the proposed study on lupus and to convey its level of significance. * Research Strategy: The scientific rationale and experimental methodology should demonstrate critical understanding and in-depth analysis of lupus. Experimental strategies may be novel or may be based on strong rationale derived from a literature review. * Preliminary Data: Inclusion of preliminary data, such as unpublished data from the laboratory of the PI and/or data from published literature that are relevant to lupus and support the proposed research project, is encouraged, but not required. * Focus Areas: The proposed research must address at least one of the FY17 LRP Focus Areas. Clinical trials are not allowed under this Program Announcement.

    The American Psychiatric Nursing Foundation (APNF) is pleased to continue the research grants program to enhance scientific contributions advancing the knowledge and practice of psychiatric-mental health nursing.     The mission of the NLN Foundation for Nursing Education is to raise, steward, and distribute funds that promote excellence in nursing education. To that end, the NLN Foundation Scholarship Awards program supports the goal of attracting more seasoned and ethnically diverse nurses to become nurse educators. Scholarships of up to $8,000 will be awarded to assist in the completion of nurses' graduate education, which could include tuition, support for a dissertation or thesis, or travel for classes or attendance at an onsite internship. To be eligible, applicants must be a nurse pursuing an advanced degree in preparation for a career as a full-time academic nurse educator. In addition, applicants must be a member of NLN either through individual dues or through their schools' NLN membership.

    To help advance this mission, ATS is accepting applications for the 2019 ATS Foundation Nursing Research Award. Through the program, a single grant of $8,000 will be awarded to a licensed, registered nurse with a PhD who is interested in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine. ATS has a particular interest in proposals that have a high likelihood to advance the understanding of pulmonary, critical care, and sleep, with the goal of preventing these conditions and improving patient outcomes. Presentation by the researcher is expected at an ATS international conference within two years of the completion of his/her research.
