    The Indian Health Service (IHS) is accepting applications for the American Indians into Nursing cooperative agreement program. The purpose of this IHS cooperative agreement is to augment the number of Registered Nurses, Certified Nurse Midwives, Nurse Practitioners and Certified Nurse Anesthetists who deliver health care services to AI/AN communities. The primary objectives of this cooperative agreement grant award are to: (1) recruit and train individuals to be Registered Nurses (Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)) and Advance Practice Nurses (Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)); (2) provide scholarships to individuals enrolled in schools of nursing to pay tuition, books, fees, and stipends for living expenses; (3) provide a program that encourages nurses (DNP, MSN, BSN, ADN) to provide or continue to provide, health care services in health care programs; and (4) provide a program that increases the skills of, and provides continuing education to nurses (Graduate and Undergraduate).

Nursing Workforce Diversity (NWD) Program - 0 views

    This announcement solicits applications for the Nursing Workforce Diversity (NWD) Program. NWD grants are awarded to increase nursing education opportunities for individuals who are from disadvantaged backgrounds (including racial and ethnic minorities under-represented among registered nurses) by providing (1) student scholarships or stipends for diploma or associate degree nurses to enter a bridge or degree completion program, and (2) student scholarships or stipends for accelerated nursing degree programs, pre-entry preparation, advanced education preparation, and retention activities. The goals of the NWD program and the purposes of this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) are consistent with the statutory authority provided in Title VIII to support projects that assist underrepresented students throughout the educational pipeline to become registered nurses, facilitate diploma or associate degree registered nurses becoming baccalaureate-prepared registered nurses, and prepare practicing registered nurses for advanced nursing education. For FY 2014, the Division of Nursing will solicit three-year grants that support innovative efforts by schools of nursing to recruit, retain, and graduate disadvantaged students.  Disadvantaged populations for this award include: racial and ethnic minorities underrepresented among registered nurses and individuals who are educationally and economically disadvantaged.

Advanced Nursing Education - Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (ANE-SANE) Program - 0 views

    The purpose of the ANE-SANE funding is to provide advanced nurse education to increase the number of Registered Nurses (RNs), Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs[1]) and Forensic Nurses who are trained and certified as sexual assault nurse examiners (SANEs) in communities on a local, regional and/or state level. Ideal applicants will have the infrastructure to recruit eligible nurses, coordinate didactic and clinical training with identified partners, monitor and track experiential learning hours and certification completion, and have demonstrated strategies for creating communities of practice that can retain SANEs in the health workforce. The goal of this program to train providers to conduct sexual assault forensic examinations which provide better physical and mental health care for survivors, better evidence collection, and higher prosecution rates. [1] Advanced Practice Registered Nurses includes Nurse Practitioners, Certified Nurse Midwives and Nurse Anesthetists.

Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP) - 0 views

    This announcement solicits applications for the Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP) to increase the number of qualified nursing faculty.  The NFLP provides funding to schools of nursing to support the establishment and operation of a distinct, interest-bearing NFLP loan fund.  Participating schools of nursing make loans from the fund to assist registered nurses in completing their graduate education to become qualified nurse faculty.  The program offers loan cancellation of up to 85 percent for borrowers that graduate and serve as full-time nursing faculty for the prescribed period of time. Accredited schools of nursing are eligible to apply for funding.  Eligible schools must offer educator coursework within an advanced education nursing degree program(s) that will prepare the graduate student to teach.

    The TriService Nursing Research Program (TSNRP) was founded in 1992 and funds and supports rigorous scientific research studies and evidence-based practice (EBP) projects in the field of military nursing. TSNRP is located within the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) which is authorized by 10 USC 2113(g)(1)(A) to make grants to any nonprofit entity for the purpose of carrying out cooperative enterprises in medical research, medical consultation, and medical education. TSNRP supports nurse scientists in all stages of their careers through research funding, education, and mentoring. Since its inception, TSNRP has funded over 430 research and EBP projects; 19 applications were successfully funded in Fiscal Year 2016. The mission of TSNRP is to facilitate nursing research to optimize the health of military members and their beneficiaries, with the following the five strategic goals: 1. Advance a culture of scientific inquiry and scholarly knowledge application. 2. Advocate mission critical priorities by building a military nursing research science base. 3. Expand infrastructure to support and develop nursing research and EBP. 4. Invest in military nurse scientists and programs of research. 5. Foster interservice nursing research capacity.

    The mission of the NLN Foundation for Nursing Education is to raise, steward, and distribute funds that promote excellence in nursing education. To that end, the NLN Foundation Scholarship Awards program supports the goal of attracting more seasoned and ethnically diverse nurses to become nurse educators. Scholarships of up to $8,000 will be awarded to assist in the completion of nurses' graduate education, which could include tuition, support for a dissertation or thesis, or travel for classes or attendance at an onsite internship.
