To provide scholarships to individuals who are interested in and committed to oncology nursing and pursuing a baccalaureate degree in nursing. The National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN) is offering up to twenty-nine (29) registration scholarships to attend the 29th Annual Educational Conference taking place October 2-5, 2013, at the Nashville Convention Center and Nashville Renaissance Hotel in Nashville, TN. Supported in part by a grant from Mead Johnson Nutrition, each scholarship award is equal to the early-bird conference registration rate ($220-$450) and will be distributed as a complimentary registration. Requirements - The scholarship is open to NANN members who have an interest in advancing their career and involvement in neonatal care, management and/or research. - NANN Board members, NANNP Council members, and NANN Program Planning Committee members are not eligible.

The mission of the NLN Foundation for Nursing Education is to raise, steward, and distribute funds that promote excellence in nursing education. To that end, the NLN Foundation Scholarship Awards program supports the goal of attracting more seasoned and ethnically diverse nurses to become nurse educators. Scholarships of up to $8,000 will be awarded to assist in the completion of nurses' graduate education, which could include tuition, support for a dissertation or thesis, or travel for classes or attendance at an onsite internship. To be eligible, applicants must be a nurse pursuing an advanced degree in preparation for a career as a full-time academic nurse educator. In addition, applicants must be a member of NLN either through individual dues or through their schools' NLN membership.

These scholarships are available to AANP members currently enrolled in an accredited NP graduate program in pursuit of an advanced degree or certification AND scheduled to graduate by December 31, 2014. Applicants must be licensed as a registered nurse. Students may receive up to $2,500 in scholarships. Only completed applications will be accepted and reviewed. Application deadline is November 15th.

The Academic Education Scholarship was implemented as a means of helping PENS to meet its goal of advancing the art and science of pediatric endocrine nursing. PENS is committed to increasing the knowledge base and enhancing the professional development of nurses in the field of pediatric endocrinology. Education is one of several means of professional development, and PENS has provided the Academic Education Scholarship to help its members meet academic goals.

Scholarships The SUNA Foundation provides expenses up to a maximum of $1,200, which will be reimbursed after submission accompanied by original receipts for registration, travel, hotel, and meals. Any unused funds are non-transferable.

As part of broader university-wide diversity and inclusion efforts, the Office of the President and the Office for the Advancement of Research and Scholarship (OARS) have issued a special call for proposals to conduct research, scholarship, or creative activities in the areas of social justice, human rights, diversity, and inclusion. Proposals may be submitted in any of these areas, but must address a scholarly question that will lead to testable objectives or measurable outcomes.

This announcement solicits applications for the Nursing Workforce Diversity (NWD) Program. NWD grants are awarded to increase nursing education opportunities for individuals who are from disadvantaged backgrounds (including racial and ethnic minorities under-represented among registered nurses) by providing (1) student scholarships or stipends for diploma or associate degree nurses to enter a bridge or degree completion program, and (2) student scholarships or stipends for accelerated nursing degree programs, pre-entry preparation, advanced education preparation, and retention activities. The goals of the NWD program and the purposes of this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) are consistent with the statutory authority provided in Title VIII to support projects that assist underrepresented students throughout the educational pipeline to become registered nurses, facilitate diploma or associate degree registered nurses becoming baccalaureate-prepared registered nurses, and prepare practicing registered nurses for advanced nursing education. For FY 2014, the Division of Nursing will solicit three-year grants that support innovative efforts by schools of nursing to recruit, retain, and graduate disadvantaged students.  Disadvantaged populations for this award include: racial and ethnic minorities underrepresented among registered nurses and individuals who are educationally and economically disadvantaged. 

The Pediatric Endocrinology Nursing Society (PENS) Continuing Education Scholarship exists to enable pediatric endocrine nurses to advance their knowledge in the areas of endocrine and growth disorders, endocrine nursing research and current issues in pediatric endocrinology nursing. Scholarship recipients can use these funds for travel, lodging and registration expenses related to the PENS conference.

This scholarship recognizes the outstanding work of graduate nursing students who are advancing the nursing profession through a commitment to innovation, leadership, and/or mentoring.

Together with University Advancement, the Office for the Advancement of Research & Scholarship (OARS) is rolling out an new crowdfunding platform called HawksNest. Through HawksNest, alumni, family, and friends of the university can directly support the research, scholarship, and service projects of Miami University students, faculty, and staff. This is how HawksNest works: * Any Miami University student, faculty, or staff member may complete an online application to have a project considered for funding. * An internal review team assesses applications and posts approved projects on HawksNest for a maximum of 45 days. * Potential donors visit the site to learn about and pledge funds to approved projects. * Once a funding goal has been met, the project can begin! * Project managers use the site to keep donors up-to-date with information on the project's progress.

American Association of Occupational Health Nurses Foundation Scholarship Program

The Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) will make strategic investments to support expanded opportunities for students in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medical (STEMM) fields. The investments will directly impact the ability of the state of Ohio to educate and train students to meet Ohio's career and job opportunities today and tomorrow. Choose Ohio First provides scholarships to students in innovative academic programs developed by Ohio's two-year and four-year, public and private colleges and universities, along with their business partners. The scholarships connect students to work-based learning experiences and careers in STEMM fields in order to recruit and retain these students in Ohio. Choose Ohio First is part of a strategic effort to deepen Ohio's economic strength by increasing the talent pipeline for STEMM-related industries, including computer science, through degree and certificate completion.

The scholarships are based on academic achievement, financial need, and involvement in nursing student organizations and community activities related to health care. Additional criteria may be required by some sponsors.
