This is a great tool to help students find out which schools have tuba openings and what types of scholarships they offer. Also you can help students who are in the market for a used instrument find potential deals.

Eric Litwin is an author, musician and producer who specializes in children's music. He is one of my favorite artists for kids. He has many educational resources and a curriculum for preschool children. His books featuring Pete the Cat are awesome and appear regularly in my music room! Eric Litwin also does performances in schools and communities and has visited my school for his "Earth Shaking, CD Making" project where my students learned songs and recorded them to make their own CD.

The organization is comprised of performers, teachers, students, and enthusiasts. The group provides important resources for saxophonists at all skill levels, no matter what their background. It is a strong community network that is working hard to foster appreciation and love for the saxophone. 

Marching.com is a fantastic site for the marching band fanatic. It provides information about events for marching bands that take place all over, scores from competitions, links to competitive high school bands that can be found on the web, and a directory of incredibly useful resources for marching bands. The website also includes articles about new and innovative aspects of marching bands. 

Purpose of this resource: This blog contains writings on various topics of concern to music educators, particularly those who teach elementary and middle school. Musical Content: The musical content of these blog posts varies from choral warm ups to teaching techniques to advice on how to interact with administrators. One of most common ways of recognizing intervals is by associating them with songs that are familiar. This website provides an excellent list of reference songs for every interval. They also include recordings of each reference song. Each excerpt illustrates the interval it is associated with. Earmaster also includes various ear training exercises for musicians at all levels. The training exercises are free to try, but do eventually cost in order to use. 

Audacity is a powerful open-source audio editor made available on a variety of platforms. The program includes features of recording, post-processing, and mixing. The editing tools featured in Audacity are powerful and easy to use. Users are able to create complete and high quality recordings from start to finish without having to spend thousands of dollars on professional recording and editing software. 

"What is Jazz?" is a four-part lecture about jazz by Dr. Billy Taylor presented at the John F. Kennedy Center. Dr. Bill Taylor is a noted jazz pianist, historian, and educator. His four-part lecture dives into the history of jazz and the most important moments of jazz history. The first lecture centers around the origins of jazz in the African-American experience of slavery to the civil rights movement. This lecture explores the development of repertoire and techniques used in jazz performance. The second lecture discusses the techniques and traditions of jazz improvisation. The third lecture discusses the evolution of swing and rhythm/harmony with the inclusion of examples by a piano. Specific Musical Content: This webpage contains the chord progressions of over 5,000 songs. The original song can be played as well as just the chord progression on a piano. Each song can be transposed into different keys and modes while preserving sonic relationships. Theory Tab also can display the chords being played on a piano keyboard or a Guitar Fretboard. Other Information: This could be a great resource for any composition units, as well as for directors looking to incorporate popular music, or arrange popular tunes for their ensembles.
