Similar to Soundtrap.com; this online DAW is a great resource for student to create music with loops. I've used this in a technology class and students enjoy the variety of loops.

Soundation is a fully functioning cloud-based DAW, similar to Soundtrap. The look is darker and more professional, and the effects processing is more sophisticated. This could be a good option for college-level recording and collaboration, whereas Soundtrap's colorful look and simplicity would be more appropriate for middle- and high-school use.

With soundation, students learn to do recording, editing, mixing, instrument patches, and MIDI input. Soundation is good for university level whereas Soundtrap's simplicity is good for middle and high school. Like soundtrap, it has a free one month trial with limited accessibility and to access the full premium, one has to pay. Soundation helps students acquire the 4Cs i.e Collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. It is a good resource for teaching studio composition and for enhancing the musicianship of non traditional music students.

Sound trap is an online Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) that one can use to create loops and tracks online. One doesn't need to download any software to install sound trap, it is typically online and is a very good resource for teaching creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking (4 Cs). I like sound trap because it enables students and teachers to continue work anywhere any time (in and outside the classroom). Teachers can easily add projects and invite students to work on the project any time anywhere. The fact that one can invite another person to work on the same project and/or even record a track together is mesmerizing. With sound trap, it is easy to record any instrument, download a track, and best of all, you can record using a microphone and/or use the free loops, MIDI, and effects that come with the software. A school has to purchase the software and add students to start using it. However, the software has a one month free trial which teachers can try out with their students before purchasing.

MuseScore3 is full-featured, open-source music notation software. This software is installed directly on a computer, and has compatible versions for PC, Mac, and Linux operating systems. There is no online or "cloud" version of this software. Although MuseScore is free, it is a professional music notation alternative to Finale and Sibelius and is capable of producing high-quality musical scores in a variety of formats. MuseScore also has full capability to produce audio playback, export to audio, and generate MIDI files.

What a great resource site for music recordings! Our student computers block YouTube, thus this site will be great for my students who wish to research and listen to new music. Currently, a second grade "reading" group will be writing biographies of composers, and I want them to be able to listen to their compositions.

This makes me seriously want to reconsider learning guitar. I'm not gonna lie, as a pianist, I had a horrible time with the guitar in my undergrad methods course. The purpose of this website is to find songs to use in the elementary music room with ukulele tabs. A ukulele is much easier to work with when dealing with young students and this website provides many song resources with the ukulele tab. The chords can also be transposed to make playing them easier. The current song that is linked is a favorite of my Kindergarten students.

Incredibox is a web-based mixing tool, and its purpose is to create mixes with pre-set loops including, beats, effects, voices, and melodies. In each "dude", the user needs to select a "clothing piece" that contains a specific loops. The user begins creating their mixes, and can add and delete them as needed. Musically speaking, it is a teaching tool because the user learns how to mix loops ate certain points. It enhance several concepts such as rhtyhm and meter. It can be used by elementary and secondary-level students.

Teachers pay teachers is user content for other users to use. For a small fee (or free in many cases!), an educator could find lessons, activities, resources, or curriculum that would work well for their specific teaching situation. For a teacher with ideas and resources looking to make a little bit of extra money, they could put up their own content for others to buy.

The channel's owner is not based in Australia and may make some references to grade level that are not familiar to teachers in other countries.

Her podcasts at times include guests that share their insights on a particular topic. The podcasts are also available on SoundCloud which makes them accessible without having to use the website.

New Horizons is a network of music education programs for adults. New Horizons advocates for participatory music opportunities for adults who either had little or no music education in their younger years or have had little connection to music making since their school years. New Horizons groups are independently run organizations in the United States and many foreign countries.
