This is the official website for the West Virginia Music Educators Association (WVMEA), the service and professional organization for music teachers in West Virginia. The website provides links, resources, and information pertaining to music education in the state, including the annual All-State conference.

This is the professional organization that represents and advocates for the use of Kodaly concepts in music classrooms. Typically General Music and choir but may include instrumental pedagogy.

This website is a must use for any general music or choral teacher. It contains information regarding conferences and certification courses, as well as resources. Kodaly is a wonderful method with an emphasis on singing, music literacy, and folk songs. In the Kodaly method, teachers learn to prepare, present and practice concepts with students. Teachers also discover the importance of developing their own musicianship

WMEA.org is the Washington State Music Educators Association website. Here they provide resources to educators that cover a broad spectrum of topics. These topics include, Job Availability, publications, conference information, student events and advocacy resources.

League of American Orchestras is a site for educators, professional musicians and students can explore. Teachers can look at advocacy and the government to find out what is happening in legislation. There is a career center for teachers and professional musicians who are looking to perform. Everyone can learn about Learning and Leadership development of students and teachers. The Knowledge, Research and Innovation tab is great as it is the latest research happening. You can also find conferences, meetings, journals, conducting, composing and performing tab.

This site is a great resource for orchestra teachers. The purpose of this resource is to provide information about the current state of music programs and opportunities for orchestral students. The content of this site is mainly articles and registration links for different conferences. There are also links to webinars, fellowships, etc. as well as current issues revolving around orchestral music/education. Some sources particularly helpful for teachers are a link with interesting facts about orchestra and articles about how to reach out to bigger audiences. It offers a subscription for "Symphony" Magazine and provdes information about composing, conducting, and performing, all major elements or any music education program.

This website has resources for orchestra students. Students can find practice and performance tips, learn about local and famous orchestras and musicians, and find resources for their specific instruments.

This site has some great resources for ukulele and guitar learning in the classroom. These are free. The powerpoints are especially great because it is a step by step lesson to get students to play their instruments as quickly as possible (including little excerpts of songs in a different key). The rest of the site provides "easy" versions of popular songs for students to begin playing quickly. It was given to me in a conference session about using popular music to teach ukulele and guitar.

Artie Almeida has a ton of free downloads to accompany not only her lessons that are in her books, but also free printables that can be used in many original lessons.  Many of her ideas are unique to other lessons I have seen around.

The resources are not very easy to sort through, but they are well worth it! Many songs and activities from Artie's books are included for free and there are countless resources to use in the classroom.

This site is a resource for anyone looking to add technology to their classroom. It posts conferences, webinars, and has a database of over 400 lesson plans that involve technology.

Ted Talks are an extremely engaging way to provide students with additional information relating to music, performance, or any other topic you might decide to discuss with your students. Lectures on brain function, social issues, and music are all part of this fantastic collection.

The purpose of this sire is to provide access to leading and cutting edge conference speeches, educational talks and interviews that motivate, inspire and inform. These "talks" are all gathered in one place to access and explore and have a wide variety of interest for the music teacher. These talks often pose and answer questions about education, contemporary research and the like that will aid in growth and understanding in our profession and perhaps, in effect, better student achievement.

The website for the National Association for Music Ed, this site provides a plethora of information relating to the many different facets of music education. It provides links to websites, resources and tools for teaching, and valuable ideas for technology integration.

NAfME, among the world's largest arts education organizations, is the only association that addresses all aspects of music education.

This is a blog and resources from Amy Burns, an elementary music teacher, author and clinician. She has a lot of great material on including software and technology in the classroom. She also has several videos of conferences where she presented that have good information.

This blog contains a number of technology related resources for elementary music teachers such as iPad/iPod apps, a list of helpful websites, interactive whiteboard resources, and much more.

These clinic notes are a great reference for implementing the new National Arts Standards. This handout has numerous websites and articles for responding, creating and performing music with technology.

American Choral Directors Association. This site is a resource for national choral standards, conferences, repertoire, and choral education articles. 

Professional Organization that can provide music advocacy and an avenue for choral music resources and advancements. Website offers music lists that only include quality repertoire.

This site has aided teachers by developing many educational programs and resources covering, notation, sequencing, instructional software, and digital media. It also gives info about conferences and workshops. You must become a paid member to access the full website.

TIME is a website dedicated to helping educators integrate technology into their classrooms. Though the site is education generic, there are a great number of articles pertaining to music education. TIME and NAfME recently joined forces to present a music and technology session at the NAfME convention this year, dedicated specifically to the music technology space.

Easy songs and dances to learn within one class session. I will use these to teach movement through music and vocal technique. 

This is the page for the Nations Association for Music Education. This site is full of information for teachers and students alike on the national level. Music research and advocacy information is also available. NAFME was formerly called MENC.

The National Association for Music Education's webpage is valuable online tool for music educators of all fields. It offers helpful resources for not only teachers, but students as well. There is a wide variety of links and posts to read through ranging from blog posts to teaching standards.

NAFME is a vital resource for music educators. This website provides communication and collaboration via forums, lesson plans, standards, frequently posted articles, and even more resources for music educators of all varieties. It is an excellent way to stay involved in the music education community, and it continuously strives to improve the state of music education nation-wide.

This site provides music educators with resources for professional development, advocacy and concert recordings. Teachers will find resources for professional development on comprehensive musicianship through performance as well as information about the state conference sessions

The purpose of this resource is to provide Wisconsin educators will tools and professional development in the state. These tools focus on the iListen project, CMP, and professional development opportunities across the state. WMEA is an advocate for all Wisconsin music educators regardless of affiliation or membership.

This site keeps an up to date feed on all technology useful to music educators. This covers basic applications on mobile devices and even classroom technology such as tuners, metronomes and SmartBoards.

Percussive Arts Society provides countless files, resources and recordings for your aspiring percussionists as well as percussion classes to provide quality instruction. The Percussive Arts Society is also a membership and subscription service as well as providing a annual conference across the country. 

The Percussive Arts Society is the largest organization for percussionists and drummers from all over the world. Becoming a member grants access to an extensive archive of videos, publications, and articles related to percussion pedagogy, performance, etc. PASIC, the international convention hosted by PAS, is a multi-day event featuring percussionists and lecturers as well as networking opportunities.

The Percussive Arts Society website provides several resources for music educators. There are magazine subscriptions available as well. This site can help not only percussionists, but non-percussionist educator who are looking to find help in teaching percussion.
