This podcast is hosted by three middle school band directors in Texas. They conduct their podcast in between classes, and they discuss the ins and outs of band in their middle school classes. They provide several resources to use in sectional classes in middle school band and offer advice.

This website is for a podcast I have been listening to for a few years. The podcast is very interesting an informative. It give a different perspective on teaching band. Though I don't teach in a similar situation, things can be applied to my situation.

This podcast covers three band directors that all work in the same middle school. This discuss all different types of things but it is interesting to listen to how the three work together with their different classes. I have listen to this podcast in the past and their are even times she records her lessons with her students.

The Center for Music Learning was established by the University of Texas at Austin as an online collective of information that is useful for music educators from a variety of disciplines. Users can find useful pedagogical information, access research, and connect with other educators across multiple disciplines in music. 

PreSonus is a provider of technology solutions for recording and music creation. I have met staff members at the Texas Music Educators Association Conventions, and they have great white papers and solution sets for educators.

This site contains helpful teaching tips and strategies for low brass. The tips were authored by Richard Murrow who is the principal tubist with the East Texas Symphony. The purpose of the resource is to provide a step by step process for teaching embouchure and the first tones for low brass beginners. Other tips are offered as well such as posture, how to hold the instrument, and tips about responsible teaching. The site does not contain musical content, but rather provides information that will prepare students to begin studying musical exercises. 

Class recorder method by Texas music educator, Jo Lynn Cookus. The method is based on common American folk songs that are commonly taught in elementary settings, and therefore integrates well with common curricular models including Kodaly and Orff. It is a lesser-known alternative to common recorder methods including Recorder Express, Recorder Karate, etc. The author is a seasoned music educator with 30+ years of music education experience teaching elementary education, choir, and band.

There are many great band articles that may be viewed in .pdf format. These articles may be saved for later viewing.

This is a resource that I use often to solve pedagogy  problems in either my students playing ability or even in my teaching approach. There are different categories listed at the top as well as menus for within those categories that provide teachers with solutions to teaching situations or problems. 

This is a website devoted to providing tips and information on all band instruments. There are useful links to articles about each instrument. It is full of useful information that would be of benefit to both students and teachers.

This podcast has discussions about all things related to band. Topics range from tips on specific instruments, how to choose music, and interviews with composers and teachers. It is geared more toward the Texas band director experience, but is still a great resource for all band directors.
