    The Instrumentalist is a great resource for all music teachers. Most teachers have a subscription to the magazine paid through their membership to their state's music education association. However, you can purchase a subscription through the website for the standard subscription as well as students/groups subscription. You can also subscribe to two other magazines, Flute Talk and Piano Explorer. All of three magazines have articles written by music educators assist instructions and tips for instrumental pedagogy.

    Music K-8 is a popular site among elementary/middle school classroom music teachers. The popular magazine is full of great ideas, music, games, articles, and musical performance programs. A very useful aspect of the website is the "Idea Bank" which is located in the Resources tab. Subscribing to the idea bank list allows music teachers to instantly interact, discuss, and share with colleagues across the nation. The diverse wealth of resources available here are sure to be helpful in every kindergarten through 8th grade music class.

Although not all content is free, there are very good free and low cost options for band and orchestra directors across the nation.   • The first thing I use is an app for iOS called Attendance2. Every kid is given a QR code, and when they walk into the room they scan in.
  • I like using SmartMusic, not only for projecting sight-reading exercises on the screen and running through them that way, but also for assessment of sight-reading skills.

The first entry level is substitution, where you are just substituting technology for something else. Then you augment your activities and improve on what you are doing.

    Music K8 is a publication company that provides resources (physical and digital) for elementary/general music teachers. Most of the musical content is organized and packaged around various themes, such as seasons or holidays. There is also a magazine (for teachers) that is published quarterly containing a variety of repertoire and high quality mp3 accompaniment tracks. Individual songs can also be previewed and purchased digitally.

    The Percussive Arts Society is the largest organization for percussionists and drummers from all over the world. Becoming a member grants access to an extensive archive of videos, publications, and articles related to percussion pedagogy, performance, etc. PASIC, the international convention hosted by PAS, is a multi-day event featuring percussionists and lecturers as well as networking opportunities.
