Purpose of this resource: This resource is a custom instrument fingering chart generator. Musical Content: This website allows for the creation of custom fingering charts for standard band instruments, as well as world music instruments, keyboards, and wind controllers. There are options for standard, student, and professional model instrument charts, and each chart can be customized to include any combination of keyholes. Different colors can be used to fill in each chart. Other information: This website is maintained for current version web browsers, and is not currently compatible with internet explorer.

Children's Music Workshop is a resource site for parents to help reinforce proper practices for beginning instrument players. It provides tips for putting the horn together and tips on how to help children progress on their instruments.

This website is great for beginning musicians.  It provides instructional videos for the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, violin and cello.  It provides suggestions for the parents of these beginning musicians.  It is a great tool for music advocacy.  

Marching.com is a fantastic site for the marching band fanatic. It provides information about events for marching bands that take place all over, scores from competitions, links to competitive high school bands that can be found on the web, and a directory of incredibly useful resources for marching bands. The website also includes articles about new and innovative aspects of marching bands. 

Being a first-year teacher is, as I'm sure we all know, daunting and overwhelming, especially for those of us who seek to be the best that we can be for our students. Nonetheless, educator Jim Matthews provides his audience with a concise list of eight habits exhibited by several highly effective band directors, which includes but is not limited to having ensembles play long tones, engage in breathing exercises, and participate in warm-up routines that are both effective and efficient.
