This is the professional organization that represents and advocates for the use of Kodaly concepts in music classrooms. Typically General Music and choir but may include instrumental pedagogy.

This website is a must use for any general music or choral teacher. It contains information regarding conferences and certification courses, as well as resources. Kodaly is a wonderful method with an emphasis on singing, music literacy, and folk songs. In the Kodaly method, teachers learn to prepare, present and practice concepts with students. Teachers also discover the importance of developing their own musicianship

This wiki page categorizes sacred music into holidays and holy days. It not only shows the piano and choral sheet music in a pdf format but also gives a description to each piece and why it is appropriate for a specific holy day.

This site keeps an up to date feed on all technology useful to music educators. This covers basic applications on mobile devices and even classroom technology such as tuners, metronomes and SmartBoards.

K-12 Resources for Music Educators is a wonderful site which provides a number of links which connect teachers to music resources. The links are divided into categories such as band, orchestra, choral, classroom, and music. The links provided give a variety of musical sites which provide information on specific instruments, types of music, and state websites.

A great site with a giant list of music websites from around the country. It includes everything from organizations to instrument specific websites and blogs. A great deal of information can be found on the websites listed and you have a great deal of choices to choose from. Most subject areas have multiple websites linked for differing information sources.

Choral Music Choral Performances

The Choristers Guild foundation promotes the music and spiritual development of young singers. I am interested in learning more about the organization. Members have access to online tutorial teaching videos, skype lessons, and monthly jounral subscriptions. Benefits of membership also include discounted rates on ordering music. This looks like a wonderful organization that would be beneficial to a choral educator.

SBMP has the best selection of interesting and moving choral compositions and arrangements. Check out the advanced catalogue search. Music is sorted by difficulty as well as voicings.

Purpose of this resource: Chordify is a useful website for determining the chord progressions of almost any song. Musical Content: Chordify allows users to upload or link to recordings and analyze the chord structure. This works for all genres, including classical music. The chords are displayed in text form, and you can follow the chord changes through the piece while your original file plays. Other information: When using Chordify, educators should double-check the chords. Files with extra sounds (such as applause) can cause the program to add extraneous chords, and suspensions/inversions are not written out. This resource is still helpful for score analysis, and even for choral directors with limited keyboard proficiency. Chord changes can be written in to concert music to allow for a simpler harmonic accompaniment when teaching.

This is a music teacher blog with great teaching strategies, lesson ideas, bulletin board suggestions and general music support. This is a k-5 general music classroom blog with some choral and band mixed in.

This is an excellent music education blog to follow and is updated frequently by a music teacher! I love following Mrs. King's blog because she provides new ways to teach elementary music via games, manipulatives and much more.

This is similar to the website Choralia in that it offers part rehearsal tracks for choral music, but this website is devoted to large masterworks. This would be best for choirs who need to learn these works of parts thereof for festivals or competitions.

Podcast hosted by four music educators who are early in their teaching careers. Various topics of use to a new music teacher as each host has a different background and teaching assignment (choral, band, strings).

This website offers a wide variety of music titles to be used in a choral, general music, or individual lessons classroom. Although many of the scores need to be paid for, there are many free ones available as well.

Resources on how to get started with using technology in music education are included as well as specific lesson plans. These lesson plans cover areas such as general, choral and instrumental music. Teaching about sound creation and recording with students are just a few of the topics covered in the blog and podcast.

It has links to a number of music technology sites, and includes inspirational quotes as well! It's a handy go-to site for teachers looking for an all-inclusive music tech website.

Sonja, an app available in the app store, lets you read, write, record, and edit music hassle free. It' serves as a great educational tool for singers and musicians that lets you play or sing along with other app users. You also have the ability to import MIDI and audio files as well.

Classical Classroom is a podcast that offers a welcoming and simple approach to all things classical. It covers topics such as instrumental music, choral/opera music, film scores, composer biographies and more. The podcast is available through multiple platforms like iTunes, GooglePlay, and the web.

This site includes resources, curriculum, and blog posts designed primarily for elementary general music. A few resources for choral, band, and private studio are also available. Blog posts include many practical topics and issues faced by music teachers such as strategies for working with special needs students, technology, and mental health of teachers. Many of the blog posts feature a video that includes a question and answer segment addressing specific questions from teachers.

Choralia offers part rehearsal tracks for a wide selection of choral repertoire. Most of it is Baroque/Classical/Romantic era rep, but there is a good selection of newer works as well (Gjeilo, Lauridsen, Rutter). Sound quality is a little funky, but they do the job.
