This is a resource that I use often to solve pedagogy  problems in either my students playing ability or even in my teaching approach. There are different categories listed at the top as well as menus for within those categories that provide teachers with solutions to teaching situations or problems.

Ear training website with exercises to help improve ear training. Various exercises and categories provide good opportunities for practice and developments.

This is a simple, yet effective free online interactive software for ear training. It offers practice tools in: intervals, chords, scales, chord progressions, perfect pitch, scale degrees (functional), intervals in context, an melodic dictation.

This website is perfect for listening exercises. The interval practice was very appropriate and the difficulty can even be adjusted based on the level of the student. I would like to use this site with my after-school chorus.

A great website full of general music teaching activities and songs. Organized by category, grade level, and subject. This website is easily searchable and has countless lesson plans available for free. You can also purchase a premium plan to get access to Orff arrangements and additional lesson plans.

This site has many beneficial elements to it. There are resources for teachers (including worksheets, drills, and games for students), video lessons, and even music-related quotes. It looks like a great place to share with others and get some great ideas.

Great website for resources, especially for elementary education. Has a category list that breaks everything down easily, and also works well with Pinterest.

This resource serves as a simple list that can be used for choral teachers of different ability levels to get a basic handle on teaching middle school chorus. It offers many teaching ideas that can help teachers become more connected with their student's singing through their teaching. There's many categories for the teaching techniques including: teaching middle-level girls, boys, and mixed voices.

8note Recorder is a great website that has free recorder music listed by difficulty and categories. It is an easy website to navigate and can provide great enrichment music for those schools that use recorder stations in the classroom. It is especially helpful if your students have one-on-one technology to use where they play the recorder.

This site keeps an up to date feed on all technology useful to music educators. This covers basic applications on mobile devices and even classroom technology such as tuners, metronomes and SmartBoards.

This website is an excellent resource to purchase materials for music themed bulletin boards. Bulletin Boards are organized by category and theme.

The 2014 Music Standards are the new standards to follow and are available through the National Association for Music Education Music Standards (NAfME). There are links available to the various standards which include PK-8 General Music, Composition/Theory, Music Technology, Guitar/Keyboard/Harmonizing Instruments, and Ensemble. The website provides viewers with practice guides and tips, which are ideal for students, and workshops, which would be ideal for educators. Musician's Way is a companion website to the text of the same name written by Gerald Klickstein. The website also has resources for teachers who are looking for inspiration to bring more creativity into their classroom.

This is a supporting website for Gerald Klickstein's book, "The Musician's Way". Resources are organized by category, most of which contain additional reading/links on a topic like practice, creativity, and performance. Additionally, teachers/students can download practice documents for planning, timelines, and developing good practice habits as a musician.

Though the songs found on this blog are public domain, she posts them directly here to cut out the leg work of finding them and also tells exactly what she does with each song and what concepts she teaches!  Perfect resource for any general music teacher.

This is a wonderful teacher blog with tons of teaching resources and curriculum. This blog has a huge bank of songs by grade level or activity type and feature activities to accompany the songs.

This is a great resource for discovering new songs to teach. The site allows users to search for short transcriptions by category (ie recorder music, Orff arrangements), alphabetical, or by genre (ie: folk, popular). Music can be saved as .pdf's.

A collection of iPad apps that would be useful in a music classroom, divided into categories that include theory, performance, rehearsal tools etc. Each app is linked to the App Store for easy access.

String Pedagogy Notebook is a website created by Michael Hopkins. It contains resources for teachers to help students learn basic and extended string techniques, how to program a concert, and games to help prepare students to start playing. He also has a companion Youtube channel for this website. It is an excellent resource.

This website is a guide to string technique for students. Students and parents can find help with technique for each stringed instrument. Some of the categories addressed on the website include: posture, bow hold, left hand position, bow strokes, and vibrato.

Great free online resource to practice ear training exercises. I really like how it is broken down into different categories and has a beginner level. It is great having a specific section devoted to note location and perfect pitch.
