By early 2012, Pinterest had 10.4 million users, which is more than Facebook had at its first anniversary in 2005, but less than Google+’s 90,000 users. The Pinterest community has grown 145 percent since then and is retaining and engaging users two to three times better than Twitter was at a similar time in the company’s history.
