Super Fans Get to Play with My Little Pony - 2 views

  •
Hasbro is allowing some My Little Pony fans to license and sell their 3D printed designs through a Shapeways online store. Fans do the design work, Hasbro surely gets to enforce their right of approval before sale in the store, Shapeways manufactures the product. It's definitely a win for Hasbro, they're offloading the work, getting the fans involved, while still protecting the brand.

Shadow Fight 2 Surpasses 35 Million Downloads on Mobile - 0 views

This game first became popular on Facebook, and the game is built with Flash. Moving to mobile native apps is not hard from there, because Flash lets you then re-package the same game for iOS and Android with only minor changes required. Advergaming is a product I sincerely wish Moxie would offer to their clients. We still have considerable expertise in building Flash games and content.

Slashdot Technology Story | Why Intel Wants To Network Your Clothes Dryer - 0 views

  • It is unlikely the device will enter production (there are apparently only four in existence), however this story about the box shows something we can expect to see in the home of tomorrow. Ultimately, it's not only about saving money, but also reducing load on the electricity grid by removing needless power use."

MediaPost Publications In Search Of The Elusive IAd 07/08/2010 - 1 views

  • Well, here is one sure hit. At least as of this writing, July 8, the tip calculator Tiptitude is carrying iAds for the Nissan Leaf and Dove for Men. The Nissan iAd is viewable in an online video demo. It opens with a futuristic video that makes good use of the iPhone frame in portrait mode. Compelling, pin-sharp views of the far future land us back to the invention of the Leaf. We interact with a spinning car to enter what is essentially a lush micro-site that allows for a lot of tapping to gather car details. It has branding elements, informational elements, lead-gen pieces, etc. It is fine, but not much more than we have already seen from branded apps.
  •
This article discusses the slow deployment of the iAd platform since its launch on July 1 and also discusses how difficult it is to find any apps using iAds. I highlighted the one guaranteed app, Tiptitude. Otherwise, the article is a sober, critical look at iAds, cutting through the hype/bullshit that typically accompanies Apple's products.
