Watch Mitsubishi Run Over Your Most Pretentious Friends On Facebook - SocialTimes - 1 views

  •
"William Gelner, executive creative director at 180LA, the agency behind the campaign, told Adweek, "For many, social media has become a way to brag or show off.  From posting images of expensive  meals or wine they've had to exotic vacations they're on, this is an epidemic, and it's running rampant.  This is weird, considering the economic climate we're in.  Mitsubishi, a car with great design but at a more down-to-earth price, felt compelled to make a statement in-line with their brand ethos." When you head over to MitsubishiUnpretentious.com you'll be redirected to the Mitsubishi Facebook page, where a photo from your most pretentious friend will get mowed down by the Outlander Sport.  You can then watch as Mitsubishi analyzes more of your most pretentious friends and mows them down too."

How Huffington Post is promoting 'Political Animals' on social - 0 views

  •
We were aware of POLITICAL ANIMALS via the pre-premiere buzz, including mention of it in Maureen Dowd's "State of Cool" piece, and discussed with USA the idea to create a list of America's biggest "political animals" of all time.  With Huffington Post's highly engaged community for opinion and conversation, and USA's tremendous reach, we felt this partnership would provide a great opportunity to start a dialogue about power and leadership. As we prepare to decide on the next chapter in America's future, there's a lot to be learned from those who defined our political past, so we felt that it was a unique platform from which to reflect on what it means to be a "political animal" at a time when leadership is on the minds of all Americans.

Almost three-quarters (74%) of smartphone users are what the Pew terms "connected viewers," compared to just 27% of feature phone owners. The most common reason that people turned to their phones while watching TV was to occupy themselves during ad breaks, with 38% doing so. Among other activities people did in the prior 30 days: *23% used their phone to exchange text messages with someone else who was watching the same program in a different location *22% used their phone to check whether something they heard on television was true or not *20% used their phone to visit a site that was mentioned on television *11% used their phone to see what other people were saying online about a program they were watching, and 11% posted their own comments online about a program they were watching  *6% used their phone to vote for a reality show contestant

The store circular evolved: LocalResponse and ShopLocal help retailers target mobile cu... - 0 views

  •
Leake says LocalResponse will deliver the ads in two ways: If you mention a company on Twitter, you'll receive a response that links to a relevant retailer landing page. Even more impressive, you'll see banner ads in some mobile apps that can expand and show you the store's circular. (The latter feature is only available in-app currently, but Leake says it will be available for the mobile web by the fourth quarter.) I asked if any consumers were weirded out by this very direct ad targeting, but Leake said the response has been overwhelmingly positive. She said that consumers realize their check-in data and social media posts are public (unless they've been locked down). Additionally, LocalResponse is very careful to share intent data only with the relevant brand (so a check-in at Macy's won't be seen by any competitors).
