Here is an example how technology used to make learning math experience fun.

In this video, a teacher shows that using technology (smartboard) and concrete materials/manipulatives help students learn geometrical concepts. Especially in early ages, children can learn abstract concepts better with the proper use of hands-on activities and concrete manipulatives. If we add visualizations to words in our lessons, we can enhance students' learning. Furthermore, using such instruments in class may prevent misconceptions that make difficult to learn new concepts.

I like this video because of two reasons. Firstly, it is good example of effective lesson and good example for using materials.Different types of materials are used in this video and lesson materials are support each other by this way lesson becomes enjoyable and interesting for students who has different learning styles. Secondly, in this video, manipulatives, paper pencil actvities and technogical tools are used together and a good example of how technology should be used in the lessons. Studies shows that in our classrooms, smart board used like projectors and teachers even do not know the function of document camera. Therefore, I think that this video should be used for teacher training in Fatih project.

Learning analytics aims to enable teachers and institutions to tailor education to the needs and abilities of individual students. It does so by analysing a wide range of data, such as how students do in completing assignments and taking exams, their online social interactions, extracurricular activities and posts on discussion forums, for example. The beneficiaries are not just students; these technologies could be used to assess curricula and pedagogy, as well.

'The Many Faces of TPACK: Perspectives and Approaches" is a Wikibook created as part of the Research and Practice on Technology in Teacher Education Course (EDS 536) taught at Middle East Technical University in Spring 2013.

In this article Roy Pea, who is one of the pioneers of learning sciences, discussing how computers are changing our cognitive lifes beyond amplifying. Article first supports this proposition, then discusses implications of applying computer-based technologies into education. Lastly it suggests updating educational practices in order to be harmonious with this new emerging cognitive life. This article is also important for being quite early, it constitutes one of the foot stones of the learning sciences area.

They say "No one else does what we do" while mentioning their interdisciplinary approach. They say that "The learning sciences field emerged more than two decades ago after researchers found that what worked in a laboratory simply did not hold up with real children, teachers, classrooms and workplaces. They saw that learning technologies, which held great promise for solving education's problems, were not being transferred to classrooms and schools. Cognitive scientists, educational and instructional psychologists, and computer scientists worked together to put their ideas and knowledge to use to improve the learning outcomes for a diverse group." The institute basically do two things: 1 - They identify the critical challenges in education, literacy, mathematics, science and the social sciences. 2- They work to find solutions. Their main aim is to create learning systems for 21st century classrooms thanks to interdisciplinary research in teaching and learning. They believe that learning is a complex process and so they get benefit from different disciplines (e.g. anthropology, computer science, education, linguistics, psychology and sociology) to share knowledge and best practices on education. At their another webpage, they define learning science as a science which "focuses on how to create new, improved and equitable learning environments for 21st century learners.". In order accomplish this, they focus on four questions: 1- How do people learn? 2- What do we want them to know and be able to do? 3- How can we design learning environments that help them learn? 4- How can we monitor what they are learning? They offer a Ph.D. program to raise future learning scientists.

The article is about Generation Y which is the students in our classes now. In his article, Peter Reilly mentions about a new generation called "Generation Y " and its features. Firstly he talks on four different generation types which are "the baby boomer generation", "generation X", "generation Y" and "generation Z" respectively. He takes generation Y especially because I think they are the young people of our world and there isn't enough knowledge about them. He mentions about some features of generation Y members who prefer multitask rather than focusing one thing in a time. Also they are more concerned about what their employer can do for them rather than what they can do for a company.In the school, Gen Y wants technology integrated multitask ways rather than traditional old-way.

This Documentary published by Discovery Channel for a while and actually can be a great example for situational learning! Basically they have to survive in a forest without any technology and clothes. Sometimes it is really fun to watch when they are trying to find a solution to eat or sleep.

This video is about how to integrate technology in PE classroom by using aurasma app. A basketball coach tries to teach three basic basketball skills with augmented reality platform. Also, she shows how this aurasma app is used step by step. Enjoy!

I mentioned at OdtüClass forum abou the flexibility of that Aurasma platform and this video is the good example of it. I think that platform can be fitted to any area with the right design.

Although it is a nice though, it is not very effective for the sport enviroment. While you are practicing, it is really hard to run around with an ipad. But i agree the way of teaching. Maybe they can design a diffirent tool for more effective trainings.

This box can be informative and fun AR environment for primary or elementary school students to form topographies and simulate real time water flow in geology and science lessons.

I hated geography lesson when I was in high school and while I see those kinds of application, I wish studying at high school now with those technological tools :) I think it can be really beneficial and also gain creativity of students.

I thought besides making sand castles on the beach, primary or elementary students can play sand to learn topographies and water flow at the same time. And yeah why not, for high school students it can also be fun and beneficial for improving their creativity :)

www.tpack.org is considered the top community for TPACK. It is really impressive TPACK model example that can help students learning geography. By teacher's high CK, students learn similarity and differences between continents and countries. By teacher's high PK, students are seperated groups and they are leaded in order to develop good questions. Also, by teacher's high TK, students are connected to real students in different countries in real time via using techology, so all of the students work collaboratively.

I really liked it. It is fun for students but there is more than that I believe. Because in the process they are comparing other students' clues with what they know, reviewing high amount of their information. For example students at the other side of the skype call knew their friends were not in finland, estonia, latvia, belarus, ukraine, etc (neighbors of russia). But still I think they -maybe implicitly- learnt these countries are russia's neighbors. Still, I would love to examine their geography scores to be sure about this method's efficiency.

NMC Horizon 2016 report is up! According to the report, you can see the different types of tools or platforms to be adopted with their respective timespans. BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) is already here, although cited as "to be adopted in one year or less". The future seems to lead towards augmented reality and robotics.

Combining technology with a constructivist educational system.

I wasn't sure if this was a legitimate app, but turns out it is! I love it when people collaborate to create projects like this.
