This is a really great e-book (free, downloadable PDF) which organizes Web 2.0 education projects by grade level, including a section for adult learners, and a section of resources. There are links to all projects and analysis and self-reflection by the project creators.

This website,created by the Clinton RESA, Ingham ISD, Macomb ISD & Shiawassee RESD, offers 21 technology concepts (e.g. blogs, digital citizenship, online video resources) that teachers might want to incorporate into their classrooms. While the site is aimed at K-12 teachers, it is likely that teachers at all levels can find something worthwhile here. NOTE: the site was built in 2008; in the fast-moving 2.0 world, there might be tools that are since out of date.

With Glogster, you can " upload photos, videos, text, audio and more to create a unique online, interactive poster." Their new EDU mini-site gives examples and a resource guide to help educators make effective use of this 2.0 tool.

Presented by the Knight Digital Media Center, these presentations are described as "multimedia and internet technology training workshops," on topics like Digital Storytelling ("How to tell stories with Data (Reallly)") and Web 2.0 Training ("Digital Visualization Strategy and Workflow" or "Data Visualization on a Budget"). While the workshops are geared to journalists, many of the lessons might be relevant to those in other public-facing fields as well.

Though their primary audience is K-12, EduDemic offers social media/web 2.0 tools that are of use to students and teachers -- many applicable to the education world beyond K-12 as well.

By cmcraft (Dr. Chris Craft) on his blog, Crucial Thought. Craft posts his criticisms of 2.0 and his experience transitioning to Haiku.

Note that Craft works with 6th graders, so his use of Moodle is quite different from ours.

Patterns capture proven solutions for recurrent problems with respect to fitting context. This publication addresses both e-learning practitioners and researchers, using an accessible language to communicate sophisticated knowledge and important research methods and results.

Blog post about her company/community, Powerful Learning Practice, on the blog Connected Educators, posted Dec 18 2011. Nussbaum-Beach founded Powerful Learning Practice, with creates virtual CoPs, primarily with K-12 educators. Their model is to collect teams from several schools to work together in a larger CoP. In the first year, participants share in an action research project; if they chose to continue for a second year, they "collaboratively create" a classroom unit.

Many of the ideas here -- specifically those around engagement and various assessments/measures of success -- seem akin to KPI's own findings. Interesting project and interview.

Presented by Dean Shareski and posted by Wesley Fryer on October 11 2010, this is the 2010 pre-conference keynote to the K12 Online 2010 conference. Shareski discusses how the advent of the internet has facilitated sharing about educators and their colleagues.

Presentation by Josh Jarrett, Senior Program Officer, Education -- Postsecondary Success at the Gates Foundation; given September 10, 2010. Jarrett outlines his vision for education innovation, also highlighting some interesting resources.

Mendeley is both a (free) reference manager and an "academic social network." Users can import papers they are using for research, highlight, annotate, and tag them. Mendeley will provide an appropriately formatted citation for the paper. Additionally, users can search the citations (and descriptions) of papers that others have contributed to Mendeley, as well as creating and joining groups with like-minded researchers.

The authors of this site write on all things related to building an audience for and driving traffic to your web presence, be it a blog, twitter, a website, or something else. There is an RSS feed to deliver the regularly published feature articles.

According to her fans (see Why I Love Beth's Blog), Beth's Blog provides "deep analysis of social media campaigns, trends, and uses" along with case studies.

Provided by Futurelab, Education Eye "brings you a wide range of exciting, relevant and useful innovations which are selected from the best of the web and updated daily." (from About page). At first blush, the site might seem tricky to navigate, but it is loaded with interesting ideas. Entries are color-coded (key is on the left), and you can also search for specific terms.

With the tagline "scalable innovations for communities," nuPOLIS "is the Internet presence of the Innovation Network for Communities (INC), a national non-profit helping to develop and spread scalable innovations that transform the performance of community systems such as education, energy, land use, transportation and workforce development.
