This is the website of an exhibition at the British Library (October 2010-July 2011) looking at how new research tools are changing the way that we do research. There are many interesting resources here -- particularly the tabs Start Researching (a wide variety of collaborative research projects which users are invited to evaluate) and Tools.

This "network of researchers interested in research about education and the use of digital technologies to improve teaching and learning" launched in March 2010. While the network focuses primarily on Australian research, they are looking for evidence-based researched from all over the world. Users can follow the network on Twitter, or via RSS feed. Free sign-up is required.

The National Education Research and Development Centers are funded through IES's NCER. The mission of the R&D Centers is to contribute to the production and dissemination of rigorous evidence and products that provide practical solutions to important education problems in the United States. The R&D Centers achieve this mission by developing, testing, and disseminating new approaches to improve teaching and learning, and ultimately, student achievement. Each of the Centers conducts a focused program of education research in its topic area. In addition, each Center works cooperatively with NCER, conducts supplemental research within its broad topic area, and provides national leadership in defining research and development directions within its topic area. Currently, there are 18 National R&D Centers.

LIVING LAB brings together Europe's top research institutes and companies and aims to stimulate cooperative projects in the fields of user centred research and product development."

Published by Rita Kop on her blog, Jan 5 2012. Kop is working as a researcher looking at Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and Personal Learning Environments (PLEs).  In this bibliography, she shared her recent research on the MOOC PLENK2012 (a MOOC about PLEs). 

A collection of related studies looking at college completion and student success from the ECS Research Studies Database. Studies are from a variety of sources -- not the ECS (e.g. Journal of Higher Education, National Bureau of Economic Research, and American Educational Research Journal).

Based at the Center for Elementary Mathematics and Science Education at the University of Chicago, "RWB is a home for open research in education." The project promotes collaborative research, inviting participants to join one or more communities and to participate in events like online webinars. The Resources database appears to be expansive and allows users to rate the resources that they use.

Research arm of the U.S. Department of Education. This organization funds "top educational researchers nationwide to conduct studies that seek answers on what works for students from preschools to postsecondary, including interventions for special education students. ..."

From their site, "VideoDiary™ Blog is a versatile, reliable consumer research tool" that might be used to create a "research blog community."

Mendeley is both a (free) reference manager and an "academic social network." Users can import papers they are using for research, highlight, annotate, and tag them. Mendeley will provide an appropriately formatted citation for the paper. Additionally, users can search the citations (and descriptions) of papers that others have contributed to Mendeley, as well as creating and joining groups with like-minded researchers.

Pew Research Center's Internet & American Life Project has sorted their research by topic. Each entry includes the article's author, date published, and a very brief description. Community articles range from "How the Public Perceives Community Information Systems" to data sets like "Social Side of the Internet." This looks to be a great resource.
