"The Jersey Shore town hardest hit by Hurricane Sandy is going to be the site of a royal visit when Prince Harry tours a few blocks of this affluent Ocean County community next week. Mayor George Nebel said England's Prince Harry will take a walking tour of about 10 homes on Tuesday to see the extent of the destruction from the Oct. 29 storm."

Since our show won't air until Friday, it might be a good idea to look at this preview of the week's events. Look it over before deciding on our final stories for the show.

This story is good for the news in five because it has to do with school, and school security. We just this week had a "trick" type drill in school so it relates to what we are doing.

This would be appealing to teens because it is a serious issue and is at a school nearby.

This story is newsworthy because it brings up a prevalent issue here at Central (dress code) and also hits close to home.

Teens will be interested in this because summer is approaching and they will want to know the status of the jersey shore recovery.

This story belongs in thew news in five because it is about a fellow high school student, so it is very easy to relate to. Its also a crazy story of a girl that was expelled from school because of her science project, so it is interesting.

This story is newsworthy because the strain of this flu potentially poses a serious threat to every human on the face of the earth. There is a new strain of bird flu in China that has killed one fifth of all those infected and left three fifths of those infected still seriously ill. This would be interesting to teens because they like to know what health issues are going on in the world so they can take measures to protect themselves and those they love. Because the flu is not yet transmissible from human to human, the only way to contract it is to come into contact with poultry. Therefore, people may want to know about this so they can stop buying chicken.

This is newsworthy because the change to the school's cafeteria menu is recent. I think this would be good for the news in 5 because most of my friends are vegetarian and they complain that Central doesn't have enough vegetarian options. I think that they would find this interesting.

NBA playey Jason Collins comes out, being the first professional sports player to come out as homosexual. Its stirring up controversy and a monumental decision on Collins' part. He has just changed the game for professional athletes and their sexual preferences. What is our generations take on this? Are we the generation for change?

This story is newsworthy for two main reasons. First of all it correlates directly with our demographic: teenagers. Secondly, the issue takes place locally, creating more interest because the issue hits "closer to home" literally.

I think that this would be newsworthy because it is about to happen and a lot of teenagers have either iPhones or other Apple app devices. This story is newsworthy because it marks an important step in the process of building One World Trade center. This would be relevant to teens because we have grown up in the aftermath of 9/11 and many people see the trade center being rebuilt when they go to new york or areas where you can see new york. Images that could be used for this would be student photos that they have taken (i have seen some) or government images of the building. Another photo that could be shown would be an image of the twin towers before 9/11 or ground zero.
