I thought there werent many interesting stories this week so hopefully exciting news happens over the weekend.

A quarter of gay people surveyed in a major EU poll say they have been subjected to attacks or violent threats in the past five years.

More than $1m (£650,000; 777,000 euros) worth of jewels have been stolen from a hotel in Cannes, French police say. This would be appealing to teens because it has to do with jewelry.

I didn't think there were that many interesting stories this week but I chose these 5 because I think they are the stories that will be most interesting to teens.

The New York Knicks have established a playing-time plan for Amar'e Stoudemire, stating that the power forward will play between 10 and 15 minutes Saturday in his return from knee surgery.

Randy Jackson, the last original "American Idol" judge, announced Thursday that he's voting himself off the hit singing competition program after the current season ends.

The 5 stories I feel are most newsworthy:

2. Jason Collins comes out as first gay athlete that plays a major sport.
3. Del Val bomb threat.
4. Gatsby releasing.
5. NY school all vegan lunch menu.

I think that all of these stories would be interesting and appealing to teenagers. Gatsby is appealing because a lot of students had to read this book in English classes and it seems to be a popular movie. Jason Collins appeals to all people because it shows how people are becoming more comfortable with Gay people coming out. The Del Val bomb threat is interesting and serious because it is life threatening and occurred at a school near by. The NY vegan lunch menu would appeal to teens because it shows how schools are not afraid to make a change and because all students are concerned about lunch.

This would be appealing to teens because it is a serious issue and is at a school nearby.

Teens will be interested in this because summer is approaching and they will want to know the status of the jersey shore recovery.
