There is a new strain of bird flu in China that has killed one fifth of all those infected and left three fifths of those infected still seriously ill. This would be interesting to teens because they like to know what health issues are going on in the world so they can take measures to protect themselves and those they love. Because the flu is not yet transmissible from human to human, the only way to contract it is to come into contact with poultry. Therefore, people may want to know about this so they can stop buying chicken.
