I know it's not me in the video, but it looks so real," the boy told Childline."

False statistics, sensational narratives and deep-seated stereotypes can take root in public discourse, influencing perceptions and policies.

"Some might scoff at this, and point out that news organisations make their own mistakes all the time - more consequential than my physicist/physician howler, if less humiliating. But cases of bad journalism are almost always warped representations of the real world, rather than missives from an imaginary one.
