I found that this article may be helpful to this class because it explains how a school in London is not allowing any sort of technology in the classrooms of their students until they are twelve years old. The article uses hyperlinks to back up the claims of the school that implementing technology in the classroom has not shown any positive correlation towards a students ability to learn. This article is showing how a school is actually doing everything the opposite of what our class, INTC 2610, is learning how to do and it is interesting to see a view that does not believe technology integration is an integral part of learning. 

I found this article that relates to our class. It relates to our class because it talks about how todays students are starting their schools years using more technology then ever before. Instead of having students writing, they are swiping screens. This article labels the skills that technology can help improve in students today.

I can completely relate to this article for the fact that I get confused trying to incorporate and use as many tools as I possibly can. It's important to remember that there are many tools out there, many of them made for the same reason built in different ways. It's good to listen to your students and get feedback about which tools your students like and don't like. The reason so many tools are out there is because different variety of teachers and students like different ones. After reading this article I understand it's also really important to remember to assign one tool for one thing and not to overlap and cause confusion for you and your students in your classroom. This can be especially important in elementary classrooms where students are just becoming friendly with certain tools. Although the majority of the tools out there can do a variety of convenient things, it's better to assign one tool for them all or one tool for each. 

I found this article in a Twitter Chat and I found it extremely informative to teachers who are hesitant to use technology in their classrooms.

This article talks about how to use technology to rediscover traditional ways of learning. The main points are rediscovering oral traditions, rediscovering gestures, dance, and the body, and rediscovering visual learning.

The article I found was very interesting. HARMAN, a leading technological company and Little Kids Rock, a national music nonprofit teamed together in a partnership to strengthen music education across the country. Dinesh Paliwan, CEO of HARMAN said "our goal at HARMAN is to inspire the next generation to realize their possibilities through the power of music, technology and service".

This article talks about Google Expeditions, which is a new technological tool being used in the classroom. Google has created this for students to be able to take virtual field trips. Many schools cannot afford to take their students on field trips but now they can without leaving the classroom. Teachers are able to pause throughout the tour and discuss with students what is happening or what they are seeing. As of right now this has been given to some schools free of charge. Overall, we can think of this as something like Google maps but ten times better! 

I found this article perfect because it relates to what we are presently doing in class. Basically, it is describing how popular iPads are becoming in classrooms and how younger students are using them as well. It gives a list of the to six apps for creative writing. This is useful information because some student have a hard time writing down ideas on paper, or even writing at all. These apps could help students think of ideas, strategies, and give them useful tips for writing. This article shows technology integration in classrooms through the use of iPads.

I found a great article about using iPad Apps to enhance creative writing for students. Some students struggle with writing. Often, they have difficulty formulating their ideas and putting the pen to paper. For these students, writing is daunting task. However, this article highlights 6 useful Apps that can help to promote and inspire students to create their own narratives. I enjoyed this article, it descriptively broke down the 4 C's and their contribution to educational technology. Education has come very far in terms of technological advancement and this article should prove very helpful to current and future teachers.

As time goes on we will see less and less paper in the classroom. OneNote is a digital three-ring binder. This program is used as a way of interaction between teachers and students. OneNote has three different sections which are collaboration space, content library and the student's private space. Taking advantage of the new technological advances is good because the more you know of a program, the more efficient you will be able to be.

This article introduces the idea of classrooms going completely paperless. The idea behind going paperless is amazing. The impact that it would have on the environment and on student's learning abilities is something that needs to happen. By using Microsoft's OneNote, teachers can connect with students in a different way. In many ways our INTC class is paperless already. 

Class Dojo allows for teachers to improve behavior by collecting data and generating it for the teacher. Furthermore, this information can then be shared with parents and administrators. Teachers can give their students feedback on their behavior, as well as send quick messages that resemble texts. It also syncs across your devices which is nice for accessing the extension at home.

This extension allows users to spell check and grammar check while typing online. Online language can be informal and incorrect. This extension allows for clear purposeful langauge on social media, email, professional networks and more.

Searchtube is a chrome extension that allows viewers to search a word and instantly jump to that second in the video. I can think of plenty of times during this course where I would hear a specific word that caught my attention and I would have to constantly go back on the video to find what I was looking for. Searchtube is designed to gain knowledge while saving time. If you are watching the video for a specific reason you can just jump to the topic that you are interested in learning about by using key words in the searchtube bar. The downside is that the first half of the video is free and to unlock the second half of any video it is 2.99 a month subscription.

I like this idea, it saves time and energy.

Report Comments Bank is a Google extension app for educators. The app helps teachers shorten the amount of time to write progress reports and it allows teachers to create, save and edit reports throughout the year. Being able to save the reports throughout the year also saves teachers hours from creating end of the year reports. The app is quick and easy to learn and saves teachers a lot of time from writing report cards. This app would be helpful for us because it would help future educators complete reports on time and also have more time to create lesson plans. Reviewers rate this app with five stars for how convenient and how easy it is to use.

This looks like a great extension. Teachers time seems to always be stretched very thin. By helping teachers save more time they can put more time into classroom lessons and activities. I agree that this is a beneficial extension for any teacher.

Wow, that's extremely useful in many ways! Of course any way to save time for a teacher is key. But this also gives the teacher an easy way to track progress of individual students, and really see what areas they shine or need an extra push in. I could also see this as a great way to pass a student off to the next grade level. Upon the new school year, it would be great to give a comprehensive report of the students prior year to each teacher they are starting with. This way, if the student is experiencing the same struggles, there might be a different solution the new teacher can use, or if something worked in the past they could try that method again!

This post talks about integrating relevant information into the use of technology in a classroom. This means going beyond teaching the kids how to use the device and download apps but applying technology to specific areas of learning. This includes collaborating with the teachers of certain subjects and creating google docs to be able to openly see students progress as well as create ideas. They also talk about the SAMR model and i'll post that word for word because its an important model that was adopted by the school in the article for this idea. This articles stressed the importance of technology integration in the classroom. While educators and teachers have different opinions and ideas of what technology integration looks like in the classroom, technology integration is more than simply using technology to teach. It is using technology to enhance the learning process. The authors of the article that the best way to approach technology integration in the classroom is through constructivism.

Since 1866, educational sloyd (handicraft) has been a compulsory school subject for both boys and girls. In the technology teacher education program at the Department of Teacher Education in Rauma, University of Turku, students are able to take the curriculum for either one or two teaching subjects. In addition to technology education, a second teaching subject, such as an elementary education or mathematics, entitles them to teach in primary school as an elementary or mathematics teacher. In the technology teacher education program, students study a variety of technologies, mechanical and electrical engineering, product design, project studies, research methodology and statistics, educational sciences and ethics, developmental psychology, didactics of technology education, administration, evaluation, and sociology of education.
