The Internet archive is attempting to provide "universal access to all knowledge". i.e it is storing as much information as it possibly can. You can find movies, audio, books, even websites via the Internet archive.

A 2009 blog post from a NSW teacher about setting up a school Internet radio station. Includes some ideas for how this could be used. Involves aspects of recording information, distributing it and creating it (amongst others).

I finally figured out how to do this with the URL. This is the internet map used in the Springfield lecture this week.

This page is described by boxoftricks as "some of the best free internet resources for education"  It's mostly presentation tools, or tools for organising or sharing information. Quite comprehensive.

Possibly one of the biggest hurdles we will encounter as educators - shorter attention spans and limited patience for learning.

I found this while looking for statistics on children using computers. Would love your thoughts on what you think? I couldn't believe the statistics. Had to really think about it, and I am a tad worried with the results! check out my blog for the results on how children use the internet.

A short description of a script that helps you manage multiple folders on Google drive. Google drive is one of many cloud/Internet-based shared drive features. It's a great way to share files with groups of people (e.g. the students in your class, parents, fellow teachers etc.)   It can also be useful for simply storing work for yourself independently of a particular computer.  DropBox is the name of a similar service. There are quite a few.

Virtual clouds are a fantastic source of ICT. It has allowed people to share, save and backup all their information, all over the world. The internet is amazing. What will people come up with next?!

Research also suggests that educators help motivate students by using materials and implementing activities that students consider meaningful (Spratt, Humphreys, & Chan, 2002). As one of Pinkman's students wrote, "...once or twice a week I check my blog and then other students write comments for me, my motivation is up, usually teacher check my blog, so if I read teacher comments my teacher thought about me, my motivation up" (Pinkman, 2005, p. 20). Due to the popularity of computer and Internet technology and the growing interest in blogging, it was expected that our group of learners would also find the use of blogs in their English language study highly motivating.
