Article talking about the use of a 3D simulation (a game basically) in an attempt to help students develop empathy. The comments include a couple of interesting perspectives, especially in terms of do you really need ICT to teach this? Aren't there other ways? Does ICT offer anything in this context?

This an app that a friend of mine created and is now launch for people to download and to use. I think is great and worth a look.

We were given this resource by David Martin for our EDX3280 Maths course. It is great for all mainstream education and there may even be some application for higher learning, like TAFE.

This is the site David showed us for making word clouds this week. Great for all ages.

More for actual teachers as need to sign up, but you can have a free trial. Teachers at my work use this a lot for letter recognition and literacy practice. Something to keep for future - great for early childhood and special ed.

readingeggs is great Michelle!! I use it with the children I work with, and is especially beneficial for learning difficulties.

Like Paint.net but more options. Lots of options. I downloaded this recently and need more time to master, but it would be great for primary, secondary and adult ed.

I used resources on this website for my WebQuest. They have audio instructions which is great for early childhood and special ed. Very educational, interactive and engaging.

A great site that lets you capture screen images much more efficiently by isolating the specific section on the screen. I got this from Gizmo's freeware site too.

The following are two youtube clips I used during my Professional Experience for a Prep class to taech then their daysof the Week. Found it very effective. An example of a different approach for the assignment 1 artefact that came through my feeds today.  It's a Wordpress blog that has been used to create a "presentation through hypertext of an alternative vision for a school". Not only is this a good example of trying something different in a webs ite.  It is about re-thinking education influenced, in part, by some of the factors we're talking about in this course. FYI, the clickable image on the front page is implemented using what is called an "imagemap".  Google that term and you'll find some resources/tools that can help
