Man spendet, indem man „flattrt", das heißt, auf den Flattr-Button (ähnlich dem reetweet Button) klickt. Auf diese Weise spendet man Anerkennung für einen einzelnen Beitrag, eine Idee oder eine Website mit guten Inhalten und bestärkt den Urheber darin, weiterzumachen. Man spendet in diesem Moment aber auch Geld von seinem eigenen Flattr Konto.

Es bedurfte keiner eigenen Motivation: Web 2.0, Social Web usw. ist für uns so selbstverständlich wie täglich das Museum aufzusperren.
