Manche Tage sind wirklich verrückt...vielleicht sollte man sie einfach nicht beginnen...oder einen Plan dafür machen! So ein Tag ist der 1. Februar 2012! Nicole Simon postete auf Facebook, dass sie  nur gute Mails und Nachrichten bekommt...ich sehe aus dem Fenster und sehe den herrlichen Wintersonnenschein der das Herz wärmt und erinnere mich an den #followamuseum - Tag 2010...lieber nicht daran denken und  zwingen mich endlich den überfälligen Bürokram vom Tisch zu bekommen...dann flattern auch schon die Meldungen herein..."Auf Facebook wird über den Sinn und Unsinn von Twitter für Museen diskutiert!" @cogries findet im Web einen wirklich spannenden Artikel über genau dieses Thema und auch bei mir flattern wie bei Nicole gute Nachrichten auf den Bildschirm! ... die Finger krabbeln und ich beginne zu schreiben...

I recently read an interesting study by my friend Kate Ehrlich at IBM and her colleague Sadat Shami, It is titled, Microblogging Inside and Outside the Workplace and looks at how corporate employees use microblogging tools. This effort conducted a content analysis comparing over 5,000 posts between March and June 2009 from individuals who were using an internal proprietary tool and Twitter simultaneously.  Within these 5,000 plus posts, 58% were done with twitter and 42% were done with the internal tool so there is a reasonable balance for the comparison.

I read with interest this week an article by Ruth Jamieson in The Guardian extolling the virtues of Twitter for us visual arts types. It largely confirmed what I've known for nearly a year now: Twitter is a great way to stay virtually connected with friends and professional contacts. It's fast, painless and has a Zen-like 140-character limit that disallows users from overwhelming other users with lengthy monologues.
