Travers Date Published:2001 Why Relevant and Summary:This book I found online goes over all of Piegets stages of development and touches on all the substages as well. I used it specifically for definitions such as mental structures and schemes, but it is useful for understanding every aspect of the theory. How This Influenced My Thinking: This enhanced my understanding of piagets theory and gave me good examples to relate the theory to. Credibility of Source: it is an online textbook, which has been analyzed and published so I think it is pretty reliable.

Title:Jean Piaget Author:Sean Mcleoud Date Published:2009 Why Relevant and Summary:great overview about Piaget's theories as well as information regarding Piaget himself. Has some videos as well exemplifying some of his concepts. How This Influenced My Thinking: This helped me get a better grasp on Piaget's sensorimotor stage of development and his understanding of an infants cognitive development. How This Influenced My Thinking: This has made me agree that each child should definitely be treated differently and that each child has a different response and parents can not respond the same way to each child and expect that each child will respond the same. Credibility of Source:Yes this article is credible. It also discusses a wide range of what to keep in mind when it comes to a child's temperament. How this influenced my thinking: This changed the way I think because it goes in detail how truly prepared a parent has to be. Credibility of source: it seems reliable it has refrences and cites everything.

It talks about how certain toys can help with their development, and use of imagination. How This Influenced My Thinking: It helped back up what I had in mind. Credibility of Source: It seems credible. It has several other links incase one is interested in learning more about a specific or different subject.

Title: Temperament and Your Child's Personality Author: LLC and Dr. Myers Date Published: 2012 Why Relevant and Summary: This article gives a great explanation of what temperament is and how is affects your child, your child's development as well as you. How This Influenced My Thinking: It helped me better understand what temperament in a child can influence development. Credibility of Source: Credible, the article by Dr. Meyers seemed to be thoroughly researched and well written in a way that was reader friendly.

They also go into explaining the nine temperament traits and give examples of each. How This Influenced My Thinking: I never really thought much about how important temperament was in children as well as goodness-of-fit when it came to the child's biology and their environment. Credibility of Source: very credible video featuring Thomas and Chess discussing temperament and their proposed concept of goodness-of-fit.

Title: Mother-Baby Behavioral sleep Laboratory Author: James McKenna Date Published: 2013 Why Relevant and Summary: Sharing your bed with your infant is a controversial issue, that has opponents and supporters. Dr McKenna has been studying sleep patterns of the infant for over 30 years and highly supports and recommends co sleeping if done properly. There are steps that he explains and the video is really good. How This Influenced My Thinking: I have practiced bed sharing with both my boys when they were infants and it was a very wonderful and beneficial experience for all of us. I am glad research supports it, despite media trying to make it a big issue. Credibility of Source:

As well as their brain development, what you can and should not do. How This Influenced My Thinking: This made me realize that toddlers and infants are so complex because they can be affected really easy and it can transition into adulthood. Credibility of Source:Seems pretty credible, the author works for prentice hall. It is also based off of another resource.

McKenna, Ph.D. Date Published: No Date Why Relevant and Summary: This webpage is very helpful if one is doing their Assignment on Co-sleeping It gives examples of countries who practice co-sleeping which involves the majority of the countries including the United States. Many people believe Americans don't practice co-sleeping but research shows that many Americans do. How This Influenced My Thinking: This webpage definitely helped me be more open about other cultures. I believed that only Latino families practiced co-sleeping, but it turns out that the majority of the world practices co-sleeping. Credibility of Source: This source seems credible due to the references that were used

It also talked about why co-sleeping is beneficial, what cultures favor it, and even provided a few statistics of the benefits of co-sleeping, and how common it is in the United States. How This Influenced My Thinking: This website didn't influence my thinking much because it spoke very highly of co-sleeping and i am already an advocate of it. Credibility of Source: The site seems credible because the information was backed with references.

Though this particular article focuses on nutrition that is beneficial for the brain, the website as a whole places an emphasis on helping parents to raise bright, intelligent kids from a very early age. How This Influenced My Thinking: It emphasized how even the simplest of activities makes an imprint on a baby's mind. Credibility of Source: good. Has world-wide influence.
